Hello. I have some incredible, humbling and quite honestly surreal news. It is my great privilege to share that, as of 10.30pm tonight, the King has awarded me a British Empire Medal in the 2026 New Year Honours List for my services to people living with loss of taste.

The NHS in London have been truly fantastic and I’m proud to be working with them through Life Kitchen on a bunch of campaigns. Well wishes in the comments below and enquiries to Rachel.smith@lifekitchen.co.uk

Not really.. there’s a cruel irony is being a face of cancer recovery over the years and now being faced with my own possible diagnosis. But I’ve lost considerable weight rapidly, blood and developed a bunch of other symptoms so this is where we are.

Has cancer ever looked this good?! In all seriousness though today I had my first major hospital appointment as I’m currently on NHS Two Week Cancer pathway for diagnosis. Is it what I envisioned for turning 32?

Goodbye 2024. You were probably top two worst years of my life. I published a best selling cookbook, had a retail range but I struggled with my mental health & so many people died in my life. 2025, it’s time to rebuild myself & my empire. Embracing failure & healing are my goals.

Just automatically went to call my mother about she would cook the onions for her recipe. It’s been 11 years without her and there’s still those moments. Merry Christmas Eve everyone xx

Today my bestest friend, my business partner, my ride or die got married, @Kimdukee you text me 6 weeks ago with a I’m getting married on the 8th, it couldn’t be more you. 28 years of best friendship, an empire built, a life lived of struggles, grief, loss and so much love.

I’ve taken to closing the curtains, heating on, under a blanket by 3pm watching a film. Is it depression or heaven?
