Lots of interesting comments from agents on potential QMJHL teams in the USA, many share relocation needs to happen. But one note that I have one agent shared and had many QMJHL scouts tell me they’reannoyed with, and that is the US territory that the Q currently has.

I’ve spoken to a few college hockey coaches and I’ve heard there’s been some passionate discussion in Bonita Springs at the NCAA coaches convention. The NCAA coaches have stressed the importance of maintaining the current developmental ecosystem in hockey.
They have a 98% graduation rate while developing great pro players, it’s a system that works.
There has not been any final decision on the “five-in-five” bylaw for NCAA Division I sports.

Things were passionate today in Florida as coaches tried to explain to NCAA lawyers the impact of their new age/eligibility rules on hockey, and where hockey is different.

@uconnhockeyctl College hockey will just get younger and the same juniors kids in my mens league will still be in supply, and they can get on with their lives in a real career, its a nothing burger

I do think there should be age limits in college sports. However junior hockey is super important to the success of college hockey and this is going to significantly change the way junior hockey works. A lot of 18 to 19 year olds are simply not ready to play college hockey.

NEWS: NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.

Justin Rose is joining McLaren Golf as its first global ambassador, as well as an investor in the business. McLaren equipment will make its tour debut this week in Miami. Rose played a key role in prototype testing, offering feedback that helped shape the impending gear releases. “From the beginning, this has been a passion project,” said Rose. “I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset – working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become. That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I’m excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish.”
