@DaveZ_uk I once read grief is the absence of somewhere to put all the love once shared; & love needs to flow freely or it sours in stagnancy. Reallocating that love helps divert me away from grief's apathy/gloom & frees me to see/embrace/be buoyed by joy, not just swamped/numbed by loss.

@sapphicapuella Sans Serifs are fine/fun for the snippets of our daily interaction. But IMO as an audiobook narrator, Times New Roman styled serifs are by far the best fonts to enable a smooth, clean, comprehensive read w/ little effort/error. When the art is in the words, why distract w/ fonts?

My wife tells me I’m the last person on earth to use Times New Roman. Please tell me it ain’t so.

@Joseph_Fasano_ Your niece is absolutely correct! "Rafael buys books." Not might buy; does buy. Books is plural. Plural is more than one. Raf must buy at least 2 books. So E (one book) and F (zero books) cannot be correct. Math, language, and logic.... Can't wait to read what she writes!

My nine-year-old niece had this question marked wrong. Then she explained that "some books” should not mean 1 or 0 books. PS: She wants to be a writer. ❤️

@twitcathe @ZacharyLevi I think it mostly appeals to Christians. To a non-religious person, it sounds ridiculous to claim you can love someone you have never met. Either that or we have veeerry different definitions of love. If you love me why don’t you propose to me?

I’m not judging you, brother. I actually love you. I really do. 🤗 I have no issue with Snyder fans. Heck, I’ve been to nearly all his movies myself. My issue is with anyone who wishes to destroy something, simply because it’s not what they want. That comes from hate, not love.

Sittin in my dad’s hospital room with him. He’s not doin so hot right now. The thyroid cancer just won’t quit, and is slowly overtaking his trachea. Doctor’s may have a trick or two still up their sleeves to offer him a bit more time, but Papa D is not long for this world. 🙏

@DinahJefferies Taking charity is still often viewed as looking for a (free) handout, rather than truly needing a helping hand. So a charity shop could be mistaken for where charity cases shop ... not where shoppers support charities. (It's typically the only time you'll hear thrift(y) here.)

Is a US thrift store or a goodwill store the same as a charity shop? You don't often hear the word thrift or thrifty these days in the UK.

@DinahJefferies Most thrift stores support a specific charity. From tiny shops to huge warehouses. Selling general goods or select items. Typically secondhand, at greatly reduced prices. Great place to pick up gently (or often unused) items: to repurpose/restore...or dress a theater stage 😉.
