#WritingPrompts #Writingq #writerscommunity Has anyone outlived their children? In A Human Among Monsters, this is normal for gods. They can’t die, but their demigod children do all the time. It’s a sad reality, but one they’ve made peace with.

@realeverywriter I usually boil the water in a kettle, then pour it into a heated saucepan. Find it's a bit quicker. Then in goes the salt and pasta.

Do you really wait until the water boils to put in the pasta?

@klhicks912 I write detective/fantasy - whodunits in a fantasy setting. I started by dabbling in whodunits, and wanted to do something to set them apart. After a few years of poking about and thinking, I had the idea to set them in a fantasy world. It just clicked for me.

What enticed you to write in the genre you chose?

@klhicks912 Too many. A dozen novels, and a few 'interquel' novellas between them.

How many ideas for books do you have waiting to start?

@waschbaerella In my novels, Prince Kydelt is the next-in-line to the throne of Rychilla. He's interested in crime and detection, and he actually helps investigate a couple of cases. One is when Karis attends a conference in the capital. The other is a big one with nationwide implications.

@woofknight Chocolate. Whittakers, a New Zealand company, makes an incredible peanut butter and milk chocolate block.

If you write fantasy, dark fantasy, high fantasy, epic fantasy, contemporary fantasy, horror fantasy, romantic fantasy... Say hi?

@AuthorGoodwin I have a process with several stages. Once the stages are complete, I do one read through with an author's copy from the publishers, for errors. Once that's done, that's it.

@DanRiceWrites Most of my MCs do. Naeliya takes a while to, though. She blames society for the predicament she ends up in - going into the 'default' profession for town fairies, a messenger, instead of something that interests her. Fairies are expected to know their purpose by the age of 20.

@BoldickV Not so much wedding as for the proposals. A Druhlashi proposal involves the gifting of a ceremonial dagger to the proposee. These blades have hollow handles, which hold the wedding vows on paper. The idea is that they're willing to protect their loved one for life.

Are there any strange wedding traditions in your book/wip? In Anhelos Saga, when Arcturian royals get married, they have a secret first marriage, generally only seen by the couple, the ruling monarch and an officiate. The officiate is not a priest of any- #WritingCommunity

@Ashy_slashee Morticia Addams. Interestingly, if you watch closely when Gomez crashes his model trains, you'll notice it's the same two trains that crash each time - regardless of what he was running previously. Seems they just filmed the one crash and reused it.
