Ernie Banks was born on this date in 1931.
How important was he to Chicago?
So important that they moved his statue to Daley Plaza following his passing for all to see.
When work has you in Savannah, Georgia you are obligated to check out William L. (H.?) Grayson Stadium.
Hopefully this Bananas thing works out for the local ball club. I’m rooting for them.
New on the Hardball Voyager - Ben Ernst share his adventures in Maryland and an encounter with an Orioles Hall of Famer whose career began in Aberdeen, SD.

On our way out of St. Louis yesterday, I stopped at 1212 N. Lindbergh Blvd. From 1969 to 1996, this tired-looking suburban office building was the home of The Sporting News, which arrived in the mail every Saturday for years, teaching me about sports and writing. @SABRLandmarks
46 years ago we tragically lost our Captain, Thurman Munson.
I took this photo a few years ago when I visited his hometown, Canton, Ohio, and paid my respects.
May Thurman rest in peace.

We visited the Illinois Railway Museum on my birthday a few weeks ago. Rode a train, saw tons of cool stuff, and had a meet and greet with the Nebraska Zephyr used in A League of Their Own. Dreams come true. #WomeninBaseballWeek#ALOTO#WBHT
Phenomenal meeting for Chicago SABR with special thanks to the Cubs, Pat Manaher, Ed Hartig, and Tim Zarley.
Ed gave us a fascinating review of Cubs uniform history and Tim discussed his book, “1901: The War of the Baseball Magnates,” along with a look at the Chicago Orphans.
