Few articles published by #SABR over the past half-century were not improved by Len Levin’s eagle eyes. He brought his experience as a journalist and teacher to the baseball research community and made an outsized impact. He died at 95 on Monday. sabr.org/latest/in-memo…

A new photo has emerged, moments ago, of Jim Creighton ... the first in 160 years. It is only a snapshot but its provenance is impeccable (you'll have to trust me).

The SABR Pictorial blog has a new article: Mr. October in April, or May, or August. Author Jeff Katz presents a snapshot of Reggie Jackson with the Baltimore Orioles and, through detective work and clues, determines the photograph's date. sabrpictorial.com/2026/01/09/mr-…

Just snagged this on eBay — beautiful cdv image of a 19th century baseball grandstand — perhaps the Howard Avenue Grounds at New Haven (?) noting the Yale sign at extreme left. Is there a database or reference for 19th century grandstands? @thorn_john @SABRPictorial @sabr

It appears that the next Bowman first from #Topps is of Joe Jackson. However, the image used on the card is not from his 1908 rookie season or even with the Philadelphia Athletics. Topps used an altered photograph of Joe from 1913 when he was playing with the Cleveland Indians.

HEARKEN! We beareth glad tidings: the first official base-ball cards of Joseph Jackson are anon revealed! This youth of one-and-twenty years hath but newly inscribed a most historic covenant of five and seventy dollars by the month. Some wise scouts whisper he might yet prove the next striker to smite at .400. Seek ye this 1908-styled retrofractor within the year of our Lord 2025 Bowman Chrome!

Sad to hear about the passing of acting legend Robert Redford. Before he was a member of the New York Knights, photographer Steve Schapiro captured Redford playing baseball in Central Park with his son and daughter.

The SABR Pictorial blog has a new article, "Which Game Did You See?" by @ZBDigitalibrary. It examines a photograph previously identified as the 1943 World Series and the step-by-step research used to determine that it is not from 1943 nor the World Series. sabrpictorial.com/2025/09/01/whi…

Many of us know about the Dressed to the Nines Hall of Fame site for Major League baseball uniforms and the Threads of Our Game site for 19th-century baseball uniforms. But did you know about From My Fan Box for Cuban Winter Baseball Uniforms? desdemipalcodefanatico.wordpress.com/uniformes/

Can anyone provide some assistance with this question?
Dave Heller ✍️@dave_heller

@SABRPictorial was wondering if your group could offer me an assist. trying to figure out what year (approx) this is from. i know fred marberry is in the middle, not sure of anyone else. he looks young so could be w/ Washington in 1923 or '24. Or maybe in the minors (1921-23).
