Have @Konami ever thought about making a remastered version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, for PC, PS5, XBOX series S/X? May I draw the attention of @XboxP3 @PlayStation for the forgotten masterpiece! Or, maybe for remastered collection of MGS 1, 2, 3 & 4.

@GearsofWar Please add server for the Middle East region to improve multiplayer experience! There’s no way you can attract new or even returning players in this region with ping over 100. Gears of War will hits the 20th anniversary in 2026 and still no Middle East server!

@DOOM @satyanadella @XboxP3 Why female characters in Xbox first party games are this ugly?! I am positive this resulted from Microsoft involvement. No wonder why first party games aren’t selling well. Terrible story, ugly female characters, weak and gay male characters etc..🤦🏻

@GearsofWar @XboxP3 It’s almost 20 years since first Gears of War was released! To this day no servers for the Middle East? Why? Almost all other live service games have servers for Middle East. Xbox live service games don’t have servers in the Middle East except COD.

@MarathonTheGame He’s not wrong! Good gameplay mechanics + attractive female characters and strong masculine male characters. The game will sale like crazy. Marvel rivals, is a good example and it’s successful game! I strongly suggest to make an adjustment before releasing it!
MMORPG Intel@IntelMMO

Asmongold thinks Marathon needs to "make sure that all of the female characters in the game are f*ckable" Because it's a shooter game "primarily made for men"

@FirstDescendant It isn’t a good idea to nerf OP character after leaving the character for a long time. Players will invest time to level up the character and money on cosmetics. Later to find out that character is gutted. That will frustrate players and won’t trust you in your future updates!

I've seen a lot of confusion about how Gears of War 3 online works and what it means when we say the "servers are offline" in recent years, so I thought I would write this up to hopefully make things a bit clearer. First of all, it is important to clarify that there are two kinds of servers that concern the game: 1. Dedicated servers. These are servers that Microsoft hosted on behalf of Epic Games to ensure a smoother and fairer multiplayer experience. They acted as the host for the lobby, had a great internet connection to minimize lag and latency issues, denied host advantage to a single player and avoided the constant host migration that plagues games with no dedicated servers. Luckily, unlike some other games, GoW3 still has peer-to-peer support that comes into play when the dedicated servers are offline, so the game still works fine, albeit with the aforementioned downsides of host based lobbies. 2. Configuration servers. These are servers that contain configuration files that the game downloads when it boots. Dedicated servers have been shut down years ago and it's extremely unlikely they will ever be turned on again. The game population is most likely too low to justify the cost of these servers running. Configuration servers are what has been "fixed" as of June 14th 2023. Before that day, the servers had been unreachable for more than six months. But what does this mean? The game code stores certain settings in configuration .ini files akin to what you might have encountered if you ever had to tweak a PC game settings beyond what's allowed in the in-game settings menu. GoW3 shipped configured a specific way, what we can call "release settings". Epic had multiple ways to modify or add settings after the game was released: 1. Title Updates. These were updates of a few megabytes that almost exclusively contained game code patches or configuration tweaks. They were used to fix bugs and glitches in the code, add support for additional content released in DLCs and perform weapon balancing for multiplayer.  Epic released multiple TUs, with the latest being known as TU4. The first update was available when the game released, and it's also known as a day-one patch. 2. DLCs. These were updates of a few hundreds megabytes or more, that added additional content like multiplayer maps or the RAAM's Shadow campaign levels. 3. Live Updates. These updates were downloaded by the game from the configuration servers mentioned above, and consisted exclusively of configuration .ini files tweaks. An example of one of these tweaks is the ink stun being enabled or disabled. GoW3 downloads these files when the game is booting, and applies them when the player is at the "Press Start" menu. To explain the difference between TU and DLC, if Epic wanted to add a new weapon skin, they would have added the ability to display the weapon skin in a TU, but the ability to own and use the weapon skin in the corresponding DLC. Now, here's the crux of the problem: for reasons beyond my understanding, Epic never committed certain live updates tweaks to any of the Title Updates. To give you an example, let's take a look at the map Sandbar. When the game was released, Boomshot and Digger spawned on top of the cliff, and the Oneshot spawned in the shipwreck area. Less than a month after release, Epic changed the weapons swaps on Sandbar replacing the Boomshot/Digger with Scorcher and the One Shot with Boomshot/Hammer of Dawn. This change went live in October 2011, before Title Update 2 was released. Despite this, Epic never wrote these settings in any of the following TUs, leaving them exclusively on the configuration servers. I have no idea why they chose not to do so. The consequences of this is that if the game is unable to contact the configuration servers and download the live updates, it sticks to what it has stored on disk and in the latest title update. The following non-comprehensive list includes what negative effects this has: 1. The weapon balancing is different: luckily, most of the changes are fairly minor and only concern rifles and a couple unpopular power weapons like Scorcher and One Shot. The exception to this is the ink stun, which is very annoying to deal with. 2. The playlists are different, but due to the game age the only active game modes are TDM and KOTH, so in practice this has no effect on the game. 3. The player count for each playlist is broken and reports 0 players, but the counters have never been accurate so this is not a big loss. 4. The game cannot automatically award the 30/30 played events Onyx medal to new players, which makes getting all achievements impossible. 5. The weapon swaps that were adjusted after release are missing. 6. The XP boost that was added to make leveling up faster is missing. 7. Most importantly for players from less active regions of the world, the ping filter used to discard potential lobbies to join when matchmaking is decreased from 400 ms to 150 ms. With the game population being composed by a majority of Mexican players, this makes it almost impossible for EU players to consistently get full lobbies, because the majority of the playerbase is unable to join EU hosted lobbies, and EU players are unable to join Mexican lobbies unless the host has very good ping to EU. I have no idea when that ping filter tweak was applied, so I cannot say for sure if it could have been inserted in one of the title updates. What I do know for sure is that every single weapon swap tweak for multiplayer map was done in 2011, so why it was decided not put them in a TU escapes me. The same is true for all weapon balancing tweaks, with the exception of the ink stun that came to be months after the last TU was released. To clear up some incorrect statements I've read in the past few weeks: 1. No, the dedicated servers aren't back and they most likely never will be. 2. No, the game does not revert to its "release" or even "beta" settings. The latest Title Update still applies. Unfortunately the TU does not contain all the settings, and that's the problem. You may ask, is it possible for The Coalition to fix this problem once and for all? Unfortunately, no. TC has said in the past they do not own a testing environment for the legacy titles, and while I personally believe committing the live update settings to a Title Update should be fairly safe (the game does run these settings after all), the inability to properly test this means it's an extremely risky move in their eyes with little benefit, considering they would have to spend hours of expensive development time for a decade old game with a small player base. So far the configuration servers have gone offline and back online dozens of times since TC took over. Most outages have only lasted a few days, but in the last couple of years we've had months long ones. It is not clear how long TC will keep restoring the servers when they go down. As far as we know, the fix earlier this year could have been the last and if the servers were to go down again we would end up in the previous state for the rest of the game life. I tried to keep this as short as possible while giving a decent overview of how the game works. Everything I've said also applies to Gears of War Judgement. GoW1 and 2 do not support Live Updates, so they are not affected in the same way, although it's my understanding that GoW1 still uses servers for matchmaking purposes, and when those servers are unreachable matchmaking stops working. It's ironic to me that GoW2, by far the buggiest of the legacy titles, is the least affected by server side problems. If you have any additional questions or spotted any inaccuracies in my post, feel free to ask below. It would be lovely to get a TC or Epic employee to confirm or add to my findings and explain why the configuration settings were never committed to a TU. Thank you.

Redoing post with extra clarity and to add into Gears of War group too I've been told that Gears of War 3's configuration server has been offline for some time. This is not a server to play on, it is a server to receive update settings so that the game runs with the adjusted settings and would allow players to experience the most up to date Title Update if this server were online Personally, I doubt i'll ever play this again but I've been told that some people would like to. I reached out to a former developer who advised that perhaps "petitioning" (nicely) to show player interest may potentially demonstrate to TC that this is something players might like I can't make any promises whatsoever, but I'll try my best to find a way to get this to them if people seem interested Please comment if you're interested and share, it really does help people find it. Thank you and hopefully this can help those of you who would like it

@magho70 @FirstDescendant Yeah true the game is dying unless if they bring more contents other than just skins because there is nothing to do now. I have unlocked all characters except Lepic. I hope in the new seasons they expand the map with new areas. Sadly for me, I have spent some money in their mt:(

@FirstDescendant Hello, may I ask you to consider reducing skins prices because $20 and $15 USD for single skin is too much. Ultimate Bundles best prices imo is $20 to $30 & premium skins for $10. I would like to buy as many skins as possible but with your current pricing is too expensive.

@FirstDescendant Players number is decreasing because there’s nothing much to do after completing grinding to unlock all characters. I did unlock all characters and weapons through playing. Not interested to max out all! Please reduce character skins prices $20 & $15 is too much for single skin!

@amdradeon AMD this is your golden opportunity to get more customers to your GPU market! $50 or $75 cheaper than rival is not good enough to attract customers! I’m so frustrated from Nvidia, and I am considering to switch from RTX 2070s to AMD RX 9070 if it at the affordable range.

@TFDUpdates They need to increase contents drops rate, characters and skins, and they need to add more new unique missions seasonally to attract players to comeback. Repeating the same old mission is boring even for unlocking new characters. Most likely, people will feel bored and will quit.

@Harley_Candy33 @TFDUpdates Yeah defiler is very difficult boss and it’s fair to make it this difficult to make the rewarded skin worth it. But, it is ridiculous that I need to beat him 75 times for each skin. 4 token vouchers each time I defeat defiler is ridiculously low.

@JezCorden Physical media are useless in Xbox ecosystem today that’s most likely why people don’t want to buy Xbox hardware. I purchased Gears 5, disc to play the game in offline. I wanted to play it in condition how it was released, but I couldn’t without Internet and forceful game update.

@JezCorden They’ll never learn from Xbox One mistake. IMO, they need to make Xbox console offline friendly again like how it used to be in Xbox360 days. They need to offer Physical media with full working games in offline mode for at least single player games. It is really important imo.
