How realistic would a summer move for Amad be as it stands? Second fiddle at United #SAFC #MUFC

Proven bang on today - I can’t think of a PL striker with the attributes Brobbey has in terms of sheer strength and hold up play - and scoring goals in a team with one of the lowest xG 🤯 #SAFC
Lee Wickham@LdoubleE_87

Phenomenal striker, only 23 and for £10m quid anarl man - not just saying it because he plays for them but a good example is you see the likes of old Wissa going for £55m makes it even more mind blowingly good recruitment #SAFC

@tonyguk Can count on one hand the amount of ‘good’ performances we’ve had this season. It’s a miracle that we are somehow at 40 points already

No Roefs, no Reinildo, no Mukiele, no Brobbey, no Xhaka from the start, a goalkeeper making their Sunderland debut, a centre-back making his first Premier League start... It wasn't pretty, Leeds were the better side, but THAT WAS ABOUT GRIT. That takes Sunderland to 40 points by the 3rd March, an absolutely sensational achievement for a side playing their first year in the Premier League for 9 years. A reminder that Sunderland finished 4th in the Championship last year, as close to Oxford United in 17th as Leeds and Burnley at the top, before scraping into the Premier League with late winners in the semi-final and final. And yet... the only side to beat Sunderland home and away so far this season is Fulham and we've conceded fewer goals than Liverpool and Man United. Fuelled by one of the most remarkable summers of recruitment in Premier League history. So proud of my club!

Jordan Pickford is the best keeper in the Premier League and has been for the past 3 seasons, he’s also the best English Goalkeeper of all time. No I will not be debating this.

Roker Report
Roker Report@RokerReport·
Objectively that is a great point, but I can’t help but feel massively cheated by the officiating. We should have had the most blatant penalty of the season, Adams should have been sent off for the tackle on Xhaka, Evanilson’s goal rolled down his arm, and Gillett found an extra five minutes in added time for absolutely no reason. And there were countless other moments during the game where you just couldn’t understand the thinking behind the decisions given. It wasn’t just Gillett, it was the VAR officials who had a say in almost every big moment in the game and got them all wrong. We’ll get yet more apologies from @FA_PGMOL (again) but it makes absolutely no difference to the result. Sunderland were brilliant this afternoon and I’m gutted that instead of that we’re talking about officiating again, but it is what it is. Well done, Lads. Even when everything went against you, you came away with what could end up being a great point. #SAFC

Good point that on the road, at a tricky place to go. Performance was far better than it has been. The game fundamentals were like what it was when we were playing our best football. Now have to go and rebuild on the back of that point. Solid at the back and done the basics #SAFC

Will get pelters, and only 1/4 of us think it but Mundle isn’t PL quality. That could change obviously, but he runs into nothing and can’t finish. Talbi is the better option out wide.

Alarm bells are really ringing for me #SAFC

I’ve gave myself time to sit and think about last night and our performances overall. So this is going to be a longer couple of tweets. Please feel free to read or not, provide genuine opinion, but don’t take this as anything more than just a balanced opinion. One thing is apparent in Regis Le Bris’ play style. And it is defend first, stay in games and attack with moments of brilliance to provide the answers. There are pros and cons to this for us. Obviously, we are very very likely to stay up now, he’s done his job. Set the foundations and kept us in the league. However, the league has been so open this year, there’s a genuine chance to finish top half, maybe even sneak conference league if we pinched 8th, simply because points are close. I am not sure whether that’s the best thing for us, but my point is just if we continued with our first half of the season form, there was every possibility just on the league formation. But, our lack of attacking intent does cost us sometimes. Last night I don’t think we got going until Liverpool scored. Before that it was slow, sideways, backwards. Liverpool sat deep (as a lot of teams are against us now) giving no space. We just don’t have the answers for that. RLB doesn’t really have any main attacking patterns of play, if his wide triangles don’t work. Of course lots of teams struggle with this. Once Liverpool scored, we had a flurry, until Endo got injured. Then Liverpool relaxed again and we ‘attacked’ with minimal intent despite being 1-0 down. Moving the ball with 3/4 touches a man. Playing a pass out wide but with two passes before it gets there. Liverpool didn’t have to work to hard. Now I mentioned how a lot of teams are now defending deep against us. This is a common RLB problem. The second half of the season. First season as a coach, he had Lorient 2nd near Christmas. They ended up 10th. They got relegated the season after. I have given him the benefit regarding that as Lorient sold his best players in January. Then last year, we were contending for automatics til around January, then we slowly faded until they weren’t on anymore and we then limped to the finish line (by choice). Now this season. 19 games had us 7th, 4 points off 4th. The 7 games since then have us 15th. Our only wins against 2 sides in worse form than us. Then we’ve had 3-0 x2 and a 3-1 away defeat, a 1-1 draw with a poor spurs side and last night. The performances in these games have been very poor. Lacking energy, intent and most of all the ability to attack, bar the Burnley game and Palace second half. I am again willing to give the benefit of the doubt during this run as Arsenal and Brentford away are very tough fixtures, Liverpool at home is still a tough fixture. The anomaly results are probably spurs and West Ham (who are on a good run atm) 1/2
