About last night… Our business community came together and made SAFE’s Business After Hours with the Sumter Chamber a night to remember! Great conversations, new connections, and plenty of local pride. Thanks to everyone who joined us and made it such a success!

Bring your sensitive documents to our first SHRED DAY of 2026 at the Sumter Civic Center on Tuesday, March 24! Head to 700 W. Liberty Street from 11AM – 2PM for secure shredding by Shred360. We'll be collecting gently used furniture, appliances, household items, and monetary donations for the Sumter Habitat for Humanity Restore. All are welcome, rain or shine!

SAFE is helping the Bravo Education Foundation of Clarendon County put advanced teaching tools in the hands of area teachers. The $1,500 donation will aid individual classroom projects through the Foundation’s grant program, giving students a better chance to succeed in life. Thank you for being part of our SAFE Family! It’s not every day you get almost 400 family members together in one place, but that’s exactly what happened at our annual employee STAR (SAFE Training and Recognition) Day meeting. We’re still buzzing from all the energy and excitement! A huge thanks to Buck Davis for sharing such an inspiring message about resilience with our team and a big congratulations to all the award winners!

Congratulations to the recent Golden Apple Award winners at Sumter High School. SAFE is proud to join the Sumter Chamber of Commerce in recognizing these students who inspire others with their dedication, integrity, and leadership both inside and outside the classroom. These students are making a real difference at their school, and we’re excited to honor their achievements!

The LINK’s Emerging Leaders got money smart(er) during their recent visit to SAFE. In a session led by SAFE’s Financial Wellness Counselor, Shretta Godbolt, these high school leaders got real-world insights on budgeting, saving, and money management. The Emerging Leaders program helps students build leadership skills while earning college credit through USC-Sumter. A great initiative for students as they prepare for adulthood!

All SAFE branches and call centers will be closed beginning at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, 12/24 in observance of the Christmas Holiday, and will reopen Friday, 12/26 for normal business hours. Please note a special exception: The Sumter City Branch will be closed from 12/24 – 12/26 and will reopen Monday, 12/29 for normal business hours.

This season truly shines brighter thanks to the Angel Tree initiative through Sumter United Ministries. The SAFE family came together to support our local community with essential items like clothing, kitchen supplies, children’s toys, and bikes that are sure to bring extra smiles on Christmas morning! Thank you to Sumter United Ministries for leading this incredible effort.

One of SAFE’s outstanding Member Service Representatives, Nicholas Thames, proudly represented us in the Carolina Credit Union League’s Protege competition for the Central SC Chapter. He brought passion, dedication, and hard work to the stage, gaining valuable experience and growth along the way. We couldn’t be more proud of him and can’t wait to see what big things he accomplishes next!

What an unforgettable day at the Sumter Christmas Parade! Even though it felt as cold as the North Pole, our SAFE team bundled up, braved the chill, and showed up with festive spirit! A huge thank-you to the Evening Optimist Club for putting on another incredible parade. We were proud to be part of it! Merry Christmas from your SAFE Family!

Last weekend's rivalry game at William's Brice stadium was electric! Carolina didn't take the win, but the support and excitement in the stands were truly unmatched. Plus. seeing our SAFE logo waving across the rally towels was a moment we’ll never forget! SAFE was proud to part of the Palmetto State's most anticipated (and fun) match-ups of the year!

All SAFE branches and call centers will be closed on Thursday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. All branches will resume normal business hours on Friday, November 28. Wishing you and your loved ones a fantastic Thanksgiving from your SAFE Family!

Congratulations to SAFE’s final Players of the Week presented by Farmers Telephone and the Sumter Touchdown Club: Ben McLaurin from Wilson Hall for offense, Ethan Lowder from Manning High for defense, Peyton Gilley from Wilson Hall for lineman, and Dontavious Canty from Manning High for special teams.
