In her presentation, she brings together curatorial practice and questions of the politics of the body to examine how embodied experience mark and build exhibition formats in both contextual and epistemic terms.

Artists of the 11th Term, which runs from January to June, Eda Gecikmez, Yekateryna Grygorenko, Zeynep Gürler, Elif Öner, and Furkan Öztekin share the ongoing stages of their research and new productions with visitors.

In his works, Öztekin uses various media, including collage, photography, painting, installation, and found objects.

Since 2019, he has been working with the archive of artist and activist Ceyhan Fırat, focusing on the concepts of space, borders, emptiness, abstraction, and loss through the possibilities of queer art.

Let’s get to know the 11th term artists of SAHA Studio! ✨ Furkan Öztekin is a visual artist and researcher who lives and works in Tekirdağ. He graduated from the Painting Department at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts.

Since 2018, Öner has also been part of the artist duo Sensitive Sounds with Evrim Kavcar, and the duo has published a book titled A Dictionary of Sensitive Sounds. Additionally, she collaborates on projects and creates works in the fields of theater and cinema.

She then participated in the Borusan Art Center Istanbul AiR Program for two years. Her practice shapes around dualities such as reality/virtuality and traditional/contemporary, by exploring the potential of the unconscious through the concepts of history and memory.

Let’s get to know the 11th term artists of SAHA Studio! ✨ Elif Öner lives and works in Istanbul and Rotterdam. She studied at the Department of Painting at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, and afterwards she began her graduate studies at the same institution.

She went on to complete her Master’s degree at the same institution in 2013, followed by a Proficiency in Art (PhD equivalent) in 2021.

In recent years, her projects centered around Lake Efteni have evolved into process based investigations into the relationship between ecology and memory. Gürler earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Painting at Gazi University, Faculty of Fine Arts in 2010.

She maintains an integrated approach, bridging artistic production with academic research and pedagogical practice. Her work combines photography, video, installation, and drawing with field research, focusing on rendering the temporal and affective layers of landscapes visible.

Let’s get to know the 11th term artists of SAHA Studio! ✨ Zeynep Gürler is an artist and academic who lives and works in Düzce. Her practice explores the intersections of ecology, memory, and space through a multispecies lens that encompasses both human and nonhuman entities.

By approaching these notions through philosophical, artistic, and psychoanalytic frameworks, she questions the multi-layered nature of individual existence.

At the core of her research and artistic production lies the relationship between body and mind, along with the uncanniness between the inner and outer dimensions of the body; this axis converges into a conceptual framework shaped by posthumanism.
