A statement from our interim Chairperson SAMRO is currently undertaking a comprehensive review and amendment of its Memorandum of Incorporation (MoI), in full consultation with its members. Over the past few months, the organisation has facilitated a member-driven process through which Composer and Publisher representatives were elected to serve on the MoI Review Task Team, ensuring inclusive and representative participation.   Additionally, Terry Tselane has been appointed by the Board of SAMRO as the Independent External Chairperson of the Memorandum of Incorporation (MoI) Review Task Team. Mr Tselane is not new to SAMRO and brings valuable experience and institutional understanding. The Board is confident that his leadership will support the organisation in strengthening its governance and advancing this important reform process.   As this work progresses, we are aware that external narratives or media coverage may emerge that could misrepresent or undermine the intent of the Task Team and the Independent Chairperson, including, at times, commentary that may be considered frivolous or aimed at detracting from the integrity of the process. We encourage all stakeholders to rely on official communications and verified information. The organisation remains firmly committed to a process grounded in transparency, integrity, and sound governance.   Sincerely   Sisa Mayekiso Interim Chairperson of the Board
