Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said that former president Jacob Zuma has a habit of undermining the country’s foreign policy. This comes after Zuma’s visit to the Gupta brothers in India last month, despite them being fugitives from the law in South Africa. Ntshavheni also warned that Zuma could be stripped of his privileges as a former head of State as a result of his actions. "This is not the first instance in relation to this particular State president that he undermines not only the foreign policy of the country, but also the laws of the country", She said.

𝐉𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 The National Consumer Commission (NCC) announced on Thursday that Jaguar Land Rover South Africa (Pty) Ltd has issued another recall for selected vehicles. The recall affects certain 2024 to 2027 model-year Jaguar F-PACE, Defender, Discovery, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar vehicles. According to the supplier, a fault has been identified on certain AJD20-D6 engines, where the front-end drive belt idler pulley may over-rotate after experiencing high torsional loads. This may cause the pulley to clash and damage the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Consumers who own the affected vehicles are urged to visit their nearest Jaguar Land Rover dealership to arrange for an inspection and repair.

The state funeral of Ali Khamenei, killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli airstrike on his compound in February, begins this Friday July 4th. Ceremonies run through July 9th across Tehran, Qom and Mashhad, with his body traveling to Iraq for processions in Najaf and Karbala before burial at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad. Authorities are preparing for up to 35 million attendees, potentially surpassing Khomeini's 1989 funeral which drew 10.2 million in Tehran alone and still holds the Guinness record for largest funeral in history. The scale of anticipated public participation indicates that they are set to become one of the most significant mass gatherings in contemporary Iranian history. His son Mojtaba Khamenei is unlikely to appear in public at his father Ali Khamenei’s funeral because of security concerns. Mojtaba Khamenei wanted to attend the funeral and lead prayers, but security officials have warned it would be too dangerous.

𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭, 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜 On 1 July 2026, Johann Rupert’s Remgro finalised the purchase of Mediclinic. The process began in December 2025, but took months and plenty of financial manoeuvres to complete. This purchase gives the South African billionaire a greater stake in South Africa’s privatised healthcare industry. When the deal to purchase Mediclinic was announced, Remgro and IHL each agreed to pay $950 million (R15.52 billion) to complete the transaction. In exchange, each company would get 100% ownership in its region’s private healthcare company. Previously, Remgro and IHL split ownership 50-50 between two companies: Swiss-based Hirslanden and South Africa’s Mediclinic International.
