Play Sufficiency is back on the parliamentary agenda - and this time it’s in the Lords. Following sustained leadership from @PlayEngland, Baroness @NatalieBen has officially reintroduced the Play Sufficiency amendment to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill at Committee Stage in the House of Lords. 📜 bills.parliament.uk/bills/3946/sta… This is a critical moment in our mission to restore a play-based childhood for every child in England by 2035. 📰 playengland.org.uk/newsblog/a-cri… The amendment would: ✅ Require councils to assess, secure and protect sufficient play opportunities ✅ Embed play sufficiency in planning policy and decisions ✅ Mandate inclusive, accessible & high-quality provision in new developments ✅ Ensure communities, children and play professionals are meaningfully consulted This is practical, no-cost and ready to implement - and it would bring England in line with Wales and Scotland.
