The Jewish Case for Public Service My parents taught us that we owed a debt of gratitude to America for opening her doors when so many countries slammed them shut. Compelling article by Anne Neuberger, former Deputy Director of the NSA. sapirjournal.org/fixing-america…

One interesting and underappreciated development: as AIPAC has become a bogeyman in Democratic politics, wealthy tech workers of Muslim origin are powering American Priorities, the anti-AIPAC effort backing DSA candidates in NYC and elsewhere. This is a social world I know a bit by virtue of my background, and its rising political clout has brought to mind something I touch on in my essay for @SapirJournal: "Together, the integration paradox and religious attrition explain something that might otherwise seem puzzling: why the most committed and articulate voices of Muslim anti-Americanism in the United States are not marginalized, dispossessed, under-assimilated newcomers. Rather, they are privileged, cosmopolitan, first- and second-generation insiders who lead largely secular lives." Why is Third Worldism proving so seductive to the most upwardly mobile, influential, high-status members of America's fastest-growing religious minority? This is not a story about failed assimilation. Rather, it is about the changing character of assimilation. More below: sapirjournal.org/fixing-america…

Is the real Iran War story is about more than firepower and geopolitics? While America is losing its sense of self-belief, writes Bret Stephens, Israelis are willing to endure Iranian missiles because they believe their country is worth fighting for.sapirjournal.org/fixing-america…

As rhetoric and violence against Jews have heightened, so has the temptation to trade free speech protections for safety. Political scientist Yascha Mounk implores American Jews not to take this dangerous bargain.sapirjournal.org/fixing-america…

“To put it in more Trump-era terms, the battle over MAGA is a battle over what makes America great. Is it the same thing that makes any nation worth its salt? Or is it something different, unique to the American experiment? Where the conservative movement decides to stand on this question will inform the role and purpose of the American project at home and abroad.” @RogerZakheim in new issue of @SapirJournal (link in replies)

📢 Bret Stephens is one of the most important journalists alive today so it was my absolute honor to join him in a conversation now available on Spotify about my original work “Queers for Zion” - an essay published in @sapirjournal this quarter - offering original solutions to redirecting the LGBTQ+ world back towards its original rights advocacy and away from suicidal ideological capture. The full episode is at the link open.spotify.com/episode/5K9hGp…. A video recording of our conversation will soon be available too. 🏳️‍🌈🦄✡️
