.@iTWire perspective from #SASInnovate: "That's one of the 50-year principles SAS has lived for every single day; it's the product that heavily regulated industries rely on for answers that stand up to scrutiny... SAS provides answers that can be trusted." 2.sas.com/6012BBvl9s

You already know this! The Frontier Firm doesn’t run on AI. It runs on human-agent teams. Day 2 of SAS Innovate, the deeper story is the one no one is leading with: A new operating model where every employee becomes an agent boss, commanding a constellation of specialized agents under their supervision. Headcount is no longer the unit of capacity. The Human-Agent Ratio is. Make sure to take advantage of the Digital Pass bit.ly/4eMMPiT Later today, I will be releasing my next article... which will capture my findings from my Day 2 discovery.

This week, SAS marks 50 years. Bryan Harris opened the conference with a single frame: SAS was built to close the information gap, the gulf between data and the human capacity to act on it. AI is finally powerful enough to close it. But only if you trust the results. Frontier Firms generate 3× the AI ROI of slow adopters. The reason isn’t more AI. It’s the trust architecture underneath it. Day 1 of SAS Innovate 2026: Reggie Townsend said it from the main stage. Governance is how we scale our good judgment, not slow down our innovation. The question worth holding all week is not which AI to adopt. It’s whether your governance plane is ready for it. The Trust Premium is what compounding looks like when you pay once at the foundation, not forever in delays. Full breakdown on my findings later today.

46% of AI's potential is sitting idle. Not because the models aren't capable. Because organizations haven't earned the trust to deploy them at scale. I spent my first day at SAS Innovate 2026 listening to some of the sharpest minds in data and AI. The theme running through every session wasn't technology. It was trust — and the gap between where organizations are and where they need to be. Bryan Harris said something that stopped me cold. The problem isn't AI. It's an information gap. Leaders are making high-stakes decisions on incomplete data, misaligned architectures, and misplaced confidence. They're calling it a transformation. It isn't. Reggie Townsend reframed governance in a way that should change how every organization thinks about AI deployment. Governance isn't a compliance exercise. It's the culture you build — the one that makes AI trustworthy not just on paper, but in practice, at scale, under pressure. And Jared Peterson showed what that actually looks like when it works: synthetic data, intelligent decisioning, and real-time fraud detection — without sacrificing speed, oversight, or accountability. That's not a pilot. That's a production system built on trust by design. This is happening in SAS's 50th year. Jim Goodnight built this company on a principle he committed to in a memo in 1985 — that people and rigor are inseparable. The organizations thriving in the AI era aren't discovering that principle. They're returning to it. The Frontier Firms pulling ahead aren't doing so because they have better models. They're doing so because they made a different architectural choice: deterministic systems where precision is non-negotiable, non-deterministic where creativity creates value, and governance woven through both from the start. The Trust Premium is real. It compounds. And most organizations are still spending it down. The full article is linked. It covers what I heard, what it means, and what leaders need to do differently. Read the full article: linkedin.com/pulse/trust-pr… One question worth sitting with: if 46% of AI's potential is unrealized, where exactly is your organization leaving value on the table?
