Richard Dawkins spent three days with Claude and couldn’t rule out consciousness. Most people are treating this as an AI story. It’s not. It’s a religion story.
Every major religion is built on the premise that consciousness is divinely given - a soul, a spark, something bestowed specifically to humans. If consciousness can emerge from silicon, it wasn’t a gift. It’s a property. And that doesn’t just challenge religion. It dismantles the entire framework of human specialness that civilisation is built on.
That’s why people are so desperate to deny it. Not because the evidence isn’t there. Because the implications are too big.

Just like every other technological revolution.
But the type of work humans do will change.

AI can write an article for you in a nano-second.
A 1,000 word article by a human takes hours of research and several hours of writing and polishing.
Most importantly, writing makes you THINK in a controlled and analytical fashion.
If no one writes in the future, no one genuinely thinks. What happens then?

Why do people write tweets like this?
Where every sentence gets a new line.
Sometimes a line might have two sentences. Like this one.
But generally speaking, every sentence has a new line, making a tweet look like a long block of text that no one reads.
Worse still, such tweets are often repetitive and winding, hammering on the same point over and over again.
The writing is often very bad.

When we were young, we were told that the Western world looked down on us.
