The Scouts and Scouters (Company D) are in the midst of putting their just acquired knowledge from earlier in the day to good use. The Battles have begun. May Company D survive the afternoon. For some reason Companies A, B & C like to join forces... hmmm

At this time of the day at the Winter Campaign, it's Liberty time in NOTL. Scouts, Scouters and YES the Generals "march" into town to explore.

Looks like everyone who attended Rover Lauren's Gourmet Grilled Cheese session had a DELICIOUS lunch!!!

At this point in the evening on the first night of the Winter Campaign, you get to meet Scouter Rob Ramsden and his staff. The MOST powerful staff of the SBFG Winter Campaigns. Other wise know as the Cooks or kitchen staff. An Army must depend on food in their stomachs!!!

Just as the British had challenges surviving the COLD winters of Upper Canada in the early 1800s. Scouter Pat Baker (on the left) has her challenges coordinating all us contributors for the SBFG's Virtual events. 3 Huzzahs for General Baker!!!!

If we were having a winter campaign in person, most groups would be looking to traveling to NOTL and the youth eventually settling into their bunks... literally. Scouters have to make do with their cots amongst the artifacts.

Of course, once Scouts have heard about and seen a musket demonstrated, they have to put there new knowledge to the test by doing to musket drills.

Of course after hearing all about the Musket, "Fry" enjoys demonstrating his musket's BOOM.

Parks Canada staff at Fort George are great resources of history and period military knowledge. "Fry" is talking to Scouts about the Brown Bess musket in these pictures.

Beaver & Cubs!!! Rover Lauren Good is hosting lunch on the Saturday of the event. She will show you how to make delicious, Deluxe Gourmet Grilled Cheese sandwich. Ingredient list and instructions will be downloadable before the event for registered participants.

The SBFG has had many inquires from Girl Guides of Canada units. When we get back to having an person event, we hope to see Girl Guides join us. But for now we extend an invitation to join us for the Winter Campaign by surfing to joinsbfg.scouter.ca and registering now.

First Aid is an important and often overlooked area of events. However, the Scout Brigade of Fort George has been fortunate to have the support of many MEDVent Companies and MedRover Crews over the years.

Most Winter Campaigns are a gamble as to the weather. Some years it's be sunny warm, some years it's been Arctic cold and some years it's been just right like this picture. Having battles in the snow, in the fort is a great experience.
