You can start a SIP in your child's name. All you need: - Child's birth certificate - Parent's bank account - Parent's KYC You manage it as guardian. At 18, the investment belongs to the child. 👶

@talok253 @OfficialSBICare will hold lien , wont create loan account, customer run foe months, yono complaints, customer care, branch, nothing will reconcile and revert. Liens through CAMS , but for all complaints looks only if customer has SBI MF.

@BaluGorade It is still a cumbersome job to kick off the SIP. And buying lump sum is another issue due non availability of net banking if the SsSip is hooked to children saving account. At least for SBIMF AND SBI saving account I faced this issue.

@sreemoytalukdar Alternatively, you may visit the nearest SBI Mutual Fund branch and submit a physical SIP cancellation request. Additionally, we request you to email us from your registered email ID mentioning the folio number & scheme name, to enable us to assist you further.

@sreemoytalukdar Dear Sir, as discussed over the phone, since the SIP was registered through a channel partner/broker, the cancellation request is required to be submitted on the respective channel partner’s platform. The channel partner will forward the request to the AMC for further processing.

I'm surprised how complicated the process is to cancel an SIP. I have been trying to cancel an SIP from @SBIMF Equity Hybrid fund. The instruction to cancel the SIP was given by me on January 21 this year through the SBI MF website. I was expecting that it'll take a maximum of 21 business days to execute the request. Surprised to find that another installment has gone through on March 9. On contacting SBI, they are claiming that I'll have to contact my mutual fund advisor to cancel the SIP. I've had a fallout with my MF advisor, especially since I confronted him over strategies that were detrimental to my financial goals. So, there is every chance of noncooperation from the advisor's side. I am surprised that I cannot carry out the cancellation of an SIP without taking "permission" from my MF advisor? How's this possible? Why can't SBI carry out my cancellation instruction, and why did the SBI call centre executive ask me to contact the advisor? Does a mutual fund investor have complete control over his investments, or not? I'll be visiting the local SBI MF office tomorrow to check out my options.
