Parents of the 168 schoolchildren killed in Minab are struggling to process the scale of the loss, returning each night to keep vigil at their children’s graves. Drop Site correspondent Mahmoud Aslan reported that families arrive carrying rugs and cushions, food, water, and candles, placing them beside the small, freshly dug graves. They clean the tombstones, tend the surrounding earth, and settle in for the night—keeping a quiet vigil until dawn. 🎥 Video report by @8Sarmad (full report is linked below)

Not every victim of war dies under rubble. Some die slowly, in silence, far from the cameras. About two months ago, a man walked into the clinic. He was tall, but painfully thin, his face pale, his body hollow, as if he had been living through years of hunger, not just months. He was accompanied by his 15 years old daughter. He spoke on her behalf, explaining her symptoms, then quietly added that she felt too shy to visit a doctor alone. After I finished examining her, they stood up to leave. As he was about to walk out, he paused and turned back to me. “I also need a painkiller” he said. I asked him why. “I’ve been having severe pain in all my bones for days” he replied. I tried to ask for more details, but he brushed it off. “I’m fine” he said, “I just need something for the pain.” So I gave him a painkiller, and he left. Later that day, after the clinic closed, the receptionist told me who he was. He was a neighbor of the clinic. An accomplished engineer. A man who had spent years building his dream home, a house like a palace, built with all his effort, all his savings, all his life. He had only lived in it for a few weeks. Then the war began. His home was destroyed. Now he was living in a tent, on top of its ruins. The next day, he came back. This time, he was alone. And this time, he was in visible pain. He could barely stand still. Again, he asked for a painkiller. This time, I refused. Not before understanding what was really happening. He told me he had lost more than 16 kilograms over the past two months. He spoke about pain (not in one place, but everywhere.) Relentless, spreading, unbearable pain. He had lost his appetite completely. He could barely eat. There were other signs, the kind that make a doctor pause. The kind that make you think of something serious. Something like cancer. I tried to explain to him that he needed urgent tests. That he needed to go to a hospital immediately. But he resisted. It felt as if he already understood what I was trying to tell him, and did not want to hear it said out loud. In the end, I gave him a painkiller (not because it was enough, but because it was all he was willing to accept.) I hoped he would go to the hospital within a few days. I never saw him again. Until four days ago. When I heard that he had taken his own life!! And suddenly, everything made sense. This was a man who had once been successful. Disciplined. Quiet. He lived his life with care, even his diet was carefully chosen(he had been vegetarian his entire life.) He had built a life that reflected who he was. All he wanted was to continue living it. But the war dismantled everything. It destroyed his home. It stripped away his dignity. It erased the details that made his life feel whole. And in the end, it took his health. Until he could no longer carry what was left of himself. So it took his life too. There are wars we see on the screens. And then there are wars like this. Silent wars. Wars with no blood on camera. No screaming headlines. No breaking news alerts. Wars that happen quietly, inside people. And most of the time.. they end with our defeat. #WoundedGaza

NY Times has essentially confirmed that Israel played a role in stimulating the violent regime change riots that left around 3000 dead in Iran this January 8 and 9, but which were marketed in the West as pro-democracy protests. It was well understood by the Mossad that those riots would help stimulate military action by Trump. Israeli intel merely needed to convince the feeble-minded president that a wave of decapitation strikes would unleash a massive upheaval to immediately topple the Islamic Republic. The January riots were presented to Trump as a preview of what was to come. Western media, including the NY Times and The Guardian, played a central role in legitimizing Israel's deception by falsely characterizing the violent regime change riots as mere protests, massively inflating the death toll and covering up the fact that many were murdered by the Israel-backed rioters themselves The whole of Western media and the Western human rights industrial complex deliberately misrepresented the real character of those riots. But now that the war they helped to instigate is going badly for the US and Israel, that same media is now free to reveal a few kernels of truth.

One "unintended consequence" of the US-Israel war on Iran is the outing of @TheEconomist as the over-rated crapsheet it always was. Its glib, snarky Oxford geniuses don't have a figleaf to hide their assigned role as stenographers of Israel's bottomless brutality, and expansion.
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

Have you ever apologised for this, @shashj? Or explained why you falsely claimed there was “first-hand evidence”? This isn’t a minor mistake. The grotesque lie that Israeli babies were beheaded was used to justify slaughtering countless actual Palestinian babies.

Horrifying Footage Coming Out Of Iran’s Khorramabad After US-Israeli Strikes Children pulled from the rubble, as their loved ones scream in pain. They are losing the war, so they lash out at Iranian civilians. In the video a man shouts “death to America”, now you know why.

@TheEconomist has utterly destroyed its reputation with its deeply racist and profoundly bigoted coverage of the mass-murder of the people of Gaza. For six months we have seen issue after issue of scandalously one sided-coverage which has has made it complicit in the continued enslavement of the Palestinian people, the on-going seizure of their land, the systematic abuse of their human rights and the industrial slaughter of their innocent civilians in both Gaza and the West Bank. Shame on its senior editorial staff responsible for the travesty of inhumanity and bias. @zannymb

Am I the only one who found the Economist cover a bit melodramatic and jumping the gun? Israel still has full US backing and other countries and is not under nearly enough pressure to stop the war. You know who is alone? Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem

HORRIFIC night in the West Bank. Israeli settlers are attacking more than nine Palestinian villages and cities now, including Bethlehem, setting cars and homes on fire and attempting to burn families alive.

@DropSiteNews Ok but in the same breath he says the basis of western civilisation is “not to kill innocents” while eastern civilisations believe in collective punishment? As the so called defender of western civilisation openly commits genocide?! The whole barrel is rotten

They'll condemn everything but genocide in Gaza
Anita Anand@AnitaAnandMP

My #G7 counterparts and I condemn in the strongest terms Iran’s unjustifiable attacks and stand firmly with our partners in the region. As we meet next week at the #G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, we will continue to call for the immediate and unconditional cessation of all attacks, the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure, and reaffirm our commitment to regional stability, energy security, and maritime safety.
