.@GDA__online 5500 disabled members extremely concerned at proposals to cut #PIP esp. for #MentalHealth distress. #Discrimination #BarriersToWork #Poverty #DecliningPublicServices as well as #LowPay are the real problem which must be tackled. Shameful attack on disabled people.

@UKGov assault on disabled people take no account of structural inequalities in accessing education, work, the physical environment e.g. transport and buildings, services or #ExtraCosts .@RishiSunak proposals undermine #HumanRights theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

The cruel Rwanda scheme actively puts people who come here seeking safety in danger. It ruins lives. It's unworkable. It's expensive. We stand with all those fighting for a compassionate and fair system.
Together With Refugees 🧡@RefugeeTogether

A dark day. But there is always hope. The Rwanda bill has been passed. Today we grieve, but tomorrow - along with the 500+ orgs of the Together With Refugees coalition - will continue to fight for something better.

We appreciate the generous contribution of @TradesHouse in supporting us with hybrid equipment. “I love the hybrid events, & GDA makes it feel like we’re in the room with everyone else. I’m not able to get out & miss my pals, but you bring them into my living room, via the iPad!”

Community-led work cannot happen without secure, long-term funding. Organisations like @GDA__online do vital work supporting their members, and should be able to plan and deliver their activity without this uncertainty.

.@GDA__online awaiting funding outcome beyond 31st March from @LevellingUpFund @glasgowlife @GlasgowCC @AdviceUK as well as @scotgov How can we plan to continue vital supports to disabled people? #Funding #Precarity #DPOs #Investment

@GDA__online awaiting funding from @scotgov affecting 5500 disabled members. It is not ok that funding ends on 31st March & still no communication. It is not ok that we can't reassure disabled staff & members. Disabled people's lives blighted by #Austerity #Covid #COL #ActNow

GDA's SCEG gathered today to co-design a national complaints system within the NCS. It must: Provide access to support for us to have our voices heard in policy and service design in complaints. Provide Independent advocacy support to help us speak up or to speak for us.

A key message from new @CHEX_Org briefing on health inequalities in Scotland is the importance of community development and other support so that disadvantaged communities can help make change happen. And don't forget practitioners, who need support too! chex.org.uk/briefings/heal…

One of the key messages in our new briefing is to recognise the value of community-led approaches and resource them effectively. A relatively small investment from overall health spend would make a huge difference to the community sector's preventative impact.

New CHEX Briefing published today: In this timely paper, we set out actions we think can help eradicate health inequality in Scotland. The actions are based on learning from our work in this area, including from the wider community-led health sector. chex.org.uk/briefings/heal…
