Unions, transport groups, and environmental campaigners want peak train fares in Scotland scrapped permanently. In a joint letter to the Scottish Government, they argue that keeping ticket prices low will encourage more rail travel and help meet climate targets. Peak fares were withdrawn in October 2023 under a pilot scheme, but that finishes at the end of June.

Community-led work cannot happen without secure, long-term funding. Organisations like @GDA__online do vital work supporting their members, and should be able to plan and deliver their activity without this uncertainty.

One of the key messages in our new briefing is to recognise the value of community-led approaches and resource them effectively. A relatively small investment from overall health spend would make a huge difference to the community sector's preventative impact.
