Last week I visited @SCE_SONGS, a #nuclear generating station in the process of decommissioning. They let me check radiation levels right beside where spent fuel is stored & do you know what I found? Basically nothing. As expected. #SafetyFirst

Radiation doesn't leak, you can't breathe it in, and it does not spread. It's time to get back to the basics on radiation and the difference between radiation and radioactive material.

We need to change the narrative from *nuclear energy is bad* to *nuclear energy is cool* Badass TED talk from @i_sodope_ who has been championing nuclear energy since before it was remotely cool 👏
isabelle 🪐@isabelleboemeke

the idea that nuclear power is bad is costing us our future, and it’s time to let go of it. my @TEDTalks is now live! please watch and share, i’d love to hear your thoughts 💕 #tedtalk #nuclearpower go.ted.com/isabelleboemeke

In some ways this is a deeply flattering accusation. Not your dad's nuclear industry etc etc But, in reality, if the nuclear industry could've created @isodope it wouldn't have been losing so hard to worse energy sources with radically worse environmental impacts.

Hey everybody could you imagine what it would look like if nuclear industry executives and lobbying groups had to design or even just sign off on something like @Isodope Mother of God You have clearly never met industry leadership. Come with me Dave I'll show you around
Dave Vetter@davidrvetter

@heatpolicyrich @GeoffreyLean Ah, ya. Looking at the press bits it seems she vehemently denies being a shill. But I mean, if the nuclear industry *did* fund a stylish influencer to hype its message, how different from this would it look? If it walks like a duck, etc.

Watch Isabelle in action & you hear young ppl of the world make a desperate plea to halt global warming & make their future livable. Can you blame them? The anti-nuclear fear mongering of the past needs to be left in the past. There's no livable future w/o nuclear power.

There are no new anti-nuclear arguments. You're probably tired of me observing this. But. Recent events have shown there are also fewer and fewer anti-nuclear arguments.

@GovNuclear We need to continue to address the issue with facts, not fear (as some do). Only then can clear-headed decisions be made.

“Incredible tour earlier this week at Plant Vogtle! Large, complex projects like this are challenging but are essential to the future of the nuclear energy sector. By this time next year, this plant will be the largest producer of clean power in the country!” – Katy Huff

@gms111 @KarlJohanson @dorfman_p @truthout Hard to take you seriously when everyone who disagrees with you is a "shill." And given you seem unable to support your statements, you in effect move the goalposts by refusing to provide the relevant data.

@gms111 @KarlJohanson @dorfman_p @truthout That's how nuclear safety works. People bring information forward and it's reviewed. "The panel apparently spent almost a year analyzing Peck’s DPO before rejecting it in May of 2014 and declaring that PG&E had satisfied all regulatory requirements."

@gms111 @KarlJohanson @dorfman_p @truthout Interesting take, you've thought this through. Spent nuclear fuel hasn't caused cancer in anyone (please explain how it would); and DC sits on a high bluff. You've analyzed the tsunami potential there, please share your data...
