@slackkejakke many of the commonwealth's nations aren't interested in properly bidding. Canada, New Zealand, Africa's never managed to host one. Glasgow can only really afford it by hosting a much smaller scale version and compensation from Victoria for cancelling it

@slackkejakke it's going to India in 2030, might make 2034 but after that it's probably done. 6 of the 7 (from 2002 to this one) have been held in either Britain or Australia

I remember the story when two Israeli fans of Lorde sued some activists in New Zealand because they convinced her to not go there. An Israeli court awarded them damages, but strangely enough they weren't in a place to get them

Braintree's Tommy Smith for New Zealand, of ex Ipswich fame. There must be very, very few League One players who've gone to a world cup before. I knew Vale's Chris Birchall did with Trinidad & Tobago.
