I won’t try to pinpoint the macro reasons, those are tough to determine, even for people much smarter than me. But if you compare this year’s dividend growth rates across dividend ETFs, you’ll see that $SCHD far surpassed them (see below). Why? Beyond targeting dividend growth, SCHD also “manufactures” it by replacing lower-yielding stocks with higher-yielders during its annual reconstitution.
