End First: @SchsWildcats 3, Red Bay 2. (2 H, 1 BB, 1 E, 1 K, 1 LOB) Shelby County’s hitting the stratosphere early. @CooperPenning13 got all of an RBI triple to the track and came home on sac fly, and @DavisRuston11 added in a double before scoring off an error (missed pop fly).

Middle Fifth: @SchsWildcats 6, Red Bay 6. Shelby County handles three well-hit balls with relative ease, including a great sliding catch by Skylar Smith near the left field line, for another one-two-three frame. Eight-straight Tigers retired, 14-straight between both.

End Fifth: @SchsWildcats 8, Red Bay 6. (8 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 1 LOB) Big two-out double from AJ Pickett to put the Wildcats back out in front. They’d get another run off a passed ball to provide Hunter King some crucial run support.

@SchsWildcats No video, but have to give props to Cooper Pennington for a ripper of a stand-up double down the line.

⚾️ Final: @SchsWildcats 8, Red Bay 6. Shelby County weathered a wild storm to start before Hunter King came in and pitched three perfect innings to finish. That set up AJ Pickett’s go-ahead hit for a gritty win at Rickwood Field.

Winning at Rickwood’s going to be a lifelong memory for these boys. Shoutout to @SVHSBASEBALL1 for giving them that chance with this event.
