Wow. #Athletics starter J.T. Ginn had a no-hitter entering the ninth inning against the #Angels. Not only did Ginn lose the bid in the ninth, but Zach Neto delivered the ultimate gut punch with a walk-off two-run homer to center to win the game 2-1.

The road ends for Thompson in the semis as Hewitt comes out and puts on a dominant performance, led by Cale McIntosh on the bump. Huskies will now play in their first state title series since 2022 and seek their first title since 2016. Auburn will be their opponent next week.

⚾️ Final: Hewitt-Trussville 7, Thompson 1. (Class 7A Semifinals) (HT Wins Series 2-1) Thompson had its chances early, but Hewitt got all the momentum and rolled to a dominant win. Still a phenomenal season for the Warriors as they match their best run in the Perez era.

End Second: Hewitt-Trussville 3, Thompson 0. A bit of a rough (albeit consistent) zone as the left side of the plate’s getting called for balls. Hewitt loaded up the bases off it and got a walk and a sac fly to right. Controversial balk with runners on the corners made it 3-0.

Heading back from Auburn, so Andrew has you covered for this all-important game three in Trussville. Thompson is coming off a split in which it ended the night with a 5-2 victory. A fast start is necessary today for both sides. Let’s see who will be playing for a blue map!

Reporting live from Trussville, where we’re 40 minutes from first pitch between Thompson and Hewitt-Trussville. It’s win or go home, and the winner advances to face Auburn High on Thursday for the state championship. It simply doesn’t get much bigger than this.
