Dhriti means firmness, strength. Vaidhriti is the inverse of Dhriti. The literal sense is holding apart, and pulling in opposite directions. Vaidhriti is extremely inauspicious. Good tasks should be avoided when Vaidhriti is in operation. Another very bad Yoga is Vyayipata.

Tomorrow, April 25, we celebrate Janaki Navami (Sita Navami), the divine appearance day of Goddess Sita! Falling on the Navami Tithi of Vaishakha Shukla Paksha, this sacred day takes us back to the ancient kingdom of Mithila. According to the Ramayana, when King Janaka ploughed the parched earth to relieve his kingdom from a severe drought, he miraculously discovered a divine baby girl. Because she emerged from the womb of the Earth, she is lovingly called Bhoomija, and as King Janaka’s daughter, she became known as Janaki. Maa Sita is not just the eternal consort of Lord Rama; she is the ultimate embodiment of purity, resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. Her life teaches us how to hold onto dharma, courage, and grace, even in the most trying and difficult circumstances. It is believed that offering prayers to Sita-Rama on this day brings peace, marital harmony, and spiritual strength to our homes. As Goswami Tulsidas ji beautifully writes in the Ramcharitmanas: "जनकसुता जग जननि जानकी। अतिसय प्रिय करुनानिधान की॥" (The daughter of Janak, the Mother of the Universe, Janaki, is profoundly dear to the merciful Lord Ram.) Things to do: Observe a fast till 12 pm tomorrow Celebrate Her Birth at 12pm by chanting Janaki Stuti by Tulsidas ji. Offer Navidya and break your fast with the offerings. Visit any Ram Temple near you. As we observe this auspicious day tomorrow, let us bow to Mother Janaki and seek her blessings for a life filled with patience, love, and unshakable faith.
