@realjacksonford Really sorry you feel that way. But the law is really clear it has to be in person and it can't be a copy or screenshot of a government ID same as your driver's license when we check your ID for proof of age.

@SCOREonDaVIE You do realise that if someone was going to fake an ID, it's probably easier for them to fake vaccine proof...right? Look, you do you. Your staff need to be safe. But this really does feel a strange way to interpret the law. It makes for more confusion, not less.

@SCOREonDaVIE we had a super disappointing experience today. We were denied entry because one of us only had a photo of ID on her phone, despite having proof of vaccination. She is a tourist and did not want to carry her passport. Didn't matter. Denied.

@realjacksonford We have decided to follow the rules as they are written which removes any doubt for our staff in 'grey areas'. Can't speak for other venues , everyone is navigating these times a bit different.

@realjacksonford We are really sorry that happened but are forced to only accept physical ID and unfortunately photos or screenshots of passports and DLs are not approved forms of ID. Hopefully you'll join us again with the proper docs :)

@scoreondavie you are the ONLY place, in the entirety of the places we've been to in the pandemic, not to accept a photo of an ID/driver's license with proof of vax. It was pedantic and anal. Please consider being a little less rigid. Thanks.

Programming note: today will be the last day of charts. After 18 months, I’ll be heading back to my job of reporting on local politics in Metro Vancouver. I'll do some analysis of the pandemic now and again, but providing the daily numbers ends today.

@LizaYuzda @lisasj Opinions are fine, but unless you've walked a day (or a pandemic) in our staff's shoes, it should be thought out a bit more thorough. Violent costumers, anti maskers, minglers, now people already saying theyre going to put up a fight if we ask for Proof of Vac. At all 4 spots.

@lisasj @SCOREonDaVIE No. Short answer. The prov says they are working to “support businesses” separately. There are a growing number of companies requiring it of their staff. Eg a grp of Victoria restaurants is. Rogers and bell are.

Am baffled by restaurant and bar owners saying it’s going to be very challenging/dangerous to have staff check vaccine status - when they already check ID to ensure of age to drink.

@LizaYuzda ...2/2 a mask with the intention of getting into arguments with restaurant staff about their human rights. Now take this subject and X it by 100 with the vaccine passport. We are in support of the passport but it is a REAL CONCERN in the industry.
