@SC_Terry401 @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac It doesn’t though, people just use religion to get their hate off. You can’t bash people in your workplace and then say “god told me to” 😂

@DomHendriix @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac I get the shield that people use religion and other things for. They can use it if the courts say they can. All it takes it one court to rule and now everyone will use it. Classic insanity defense.

@BillSnapp4 @DomHendriix @MelonieMac Kyrie was just a few years ago and it was antisemitic remarks. What if Luka, Joker, SGA or Giannis said it would they have gotten waived? My point is he may have a lawsuit based on prior punishments and would it have been the same for the others. Marginal = cut, profit = training

All fair points but those other incidents w/ Edwards, Kyrie and Kobe were a long time ago and the political climate has changed. IF they cut bc he was a marginal player they should have basically said so. That is not what they said (and to your point that is the entire case here). They said they cut him for his words not works. And that is the stuff of law suits....

@DomHendriix @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac It does when it comes to religious beliefs. I respect his right to express his views and his worship choice. That's where the respect stops. We don't look down on others to be better. Jesus didn't do that so why is that a practice among a lot of Christians. Miss me that shit.

@DomHendriix @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac No you can but there is a way to do so and a way not to do it. He chose the latter. You are right in maybe he did it to get fired and make himself a martyr for the cause.

@SC_Terry401 @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac It doesn’t matter, you can’t speak out against your co workers and religions and then get mad when they fire you. He could’ve said nothing and they still can fire him whenever they want He fucking sucks at basketball

@DomHendriix @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac That's the attack part. It's ok if he wants to not support that community but there are way better ways to express that. "I won't be playing tonight on Pride night as it does not align with my religious beliefs." Clear the statement with the organization so they can back you.

@SC_Terry401 @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac That’s because he wasn’t fired for “attacking gay people” he already knew he was getting fired so he wanted to rant and it worked perfectly. He hasn’t played in over a month and half but political people dont know that because they just used it as a chance to push their agenda

@DomHendriix @BillSnapp4 @MelonieMac Hear me out as devil's advocate. Why was he not afforded the same sensitivity training that Kyrie, Ant Edwards and Kobe was afforded? Both Kobe and Ant were both gay slurs. Reason he is a marginal player and the team and NBA won't profit from him.

@FarmHandSteven You have be smart my guy. I don't for half the stuff the rest of you do because I get them through spectrum. Yes, my bill has small increases because of some of the add ons but not nearly as high as all the apps together. Be smarter than the system.

@JonHeyman Between this and Jake Bauers stepping on top of first base last night and being called out for missing the base, is ABS really necessary? Don't they have other issues to worry about? Like maybe 15 different ways to pay to watch all the games

@DThiemkey1997 You really compared Ivey to Jesus? What would you say if this was Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf always preaching the Qur'an? Would you have this same energy for him? Or Deni Avdija preaching the Tanakh? Same energy for him? If not then don't don't be a hypocrite and just stay quiet.

@TheNBABase @JCowleyHoops You know who else pressed people on religion daily and showed everyone the difference between righteousness and sin, thus upsetting a sanctuary? Jesus. Jesus got crucified for it. Ivey is getting fired for the same rhetoric.

Internal issues leading to Jaden Ivey’s exit from the Bulls, per @JCowleyHoops - Destroyed the locker room “sanctuary” - Constant preaching made players uncomfortable - Religious rhetoric “pressed” upon teammates daily - Told players who was “righteous and unrighteous” Bulls reportedly viewed the behavior as “weirdness” in the workplace.

@dameefor3 It wasn't that he doesn't support that community, it is the term "unrighteous" I think that sent it over the edge. Calling someone unrighteous is demeaning. I would hope as a black man in this country you can understand and empathize that part.

@bigger_bread Buddy listen you're fighting for your religion and that's great. Christians are seen, recognized and place themselves on a pedestal as better than everyone else. Christians are so hypocritical. We want recognition but nobody else can because it's against our beliefs.

@SC_Terry401 No it's not "for them." It's for basketball fans. There are no admission criteria: no one stops you from entering until you declare your gender, nationality, race or sexual orientation. Time for YOU to take some self-reflection and realize: you are not oppressed.

@bigger_bread EVERY fucking night is for them since the beginning of time. Do they do a Muslim, Jewish, Hindu prayer for the players? No it's it the Father, the Son and the Holy spirt that is said. Your privilege with this is showing. Time for you take some self reflection time.

@SC_Terry401 None of that is alleviated in the least by "Pride Night" or "Bosnian Night" or "African-American Night." By the way, being white can get you killed. Being Christian can get you killed. Being conservative and wearing a red hat can get you killed. But there's no nights for THEM.

@bigger_bread I'm not a lawyer but argue like one. You brought up the community & how you doubt this & that. New York doesn't do Bosnian night because that's not a huge population for them. You're right it is marketing but also saying you are seen by us and welcomed here. Safe space.

@SC_Terry401 In the case of Bosnian Night? Well, Serbian immigrants could be pissed, seeing as how they went to war with each other in the 90s. Has nothing to do with close-mindedness and everything to do with history, belief systems, experience, etc.

@bigger_bread Not when being who you are can bring on harmful consequences it's not. This county has a long way to go when it comes to acceptance of things that different than what "we believe" is right. When being gay, African-American, Hispanic, Muslim, etc could get you assaulted or killed

@bigger_bread Alienation is a mindset. Nobody says that you can't go to this game or that game because you're not part of this community. You CHOOSE to not go and alienate yourself. Would you feel better if they did a Christian night and held prayer at center court before the game?

@SC_Terry401 Flying a pride flag doesn't create a "safe space." Glorifying ANY community, in fact, does not create a "safe space" for that community. It's just a marketing ploy, and it has real consequences --> fan alienation.

@bigger_bread It's about showing inclusion of all fans and trying to create that safe space for them. If they do that then no heritage nights either can't be a big return on that either. Probably more in LGBTQ+ community than when they do Bosnian night in Chicago to be fair.

@SC_Terry401 Personally, I think sports teams need to get out of the business of celebrating lifestyles. It's divisive (as we can clearly see) and I don't think the returns on the investment are worth it. I doubt many LGBTQ people are turning on the Bulls BECAUSE they fly a rainbow flag.
