@catherine___c Yes but generally we have fresh rainwater that is free, except we have to finance our own water pump. So cost wise it probably levels out with a few truckloads of water from town during a drought compared to city water rates.

@catherine___c A fair comment. Most don't but some do. Even those originally off farms very quickly become more judgemental than understanding. Still, city traffic jams, no parking, living cheek to jowl - give me the hardships along with the freedoms any day!

@HoolyMcg Ha. Just had the same thing happen in the Ranger yesterday. Dropped the fuel cap when filling this morning and dried mud flew everywhere - and the light went off. Probably something simple - fuel cap seal, sensor, wife driving out to the mines to take blood samples ..

@SChamney Many ANZACs made the ultimate sacrifice for future generations. The question is what are we prepared to sacrifice so our coming generations have a future? Netflix?

Bumped into a mate, a few weeks ago he was reaching out. My shoulders are worn from mates who've been belittled by partners, family or work. This ANZAC Day I'll be thinking of them along with family who served and nursed. Photos from ABC series 1915. We were extras. And mates.

When our son marched out at Kapooka his great Uncle attended. He wore his medals from WW2 and was treated like royalty. He was the lone survivor of his battalion in Borneo and part of the occupying force at Hiroshima. A wise, funny man who gave lessons to our boy on survival.

I was 16 at the time and these scenes were filmed at Fifield. Most of us had family that had fought in WW1 so we didn't take it lightly. The uniforms and rifles were out of army surplus and some were marked with shrapnel and bullet scars. I thought of Grandad every day.

@freshy1973 Maybe. It's a shame AWI squandered so much trying to build robotic shearers instead of improved delivery and handling systems.

@SChamney I guess shearing is hard on the body and some shearer’s think drugs will help them shear more, break through the pain barrier and keep them making more money for longer?

@freshy1973 Yes, there were issues and during the period when cropping technologies were rapidly advancing. But dedicated sheep breeders kept going and the tide has turned. Australian Whites now bringing $600+ at Condo.

@SChamney Sheep are sheep, there shouldn’t be competition - but shedding sheep have been the whipping boy for a multitude of problems that are convenient.
