Again to quote Wellens "the basics" cost us, we played well first half and conceded a sloppy goal against the run of play early on, we go in at the break deserving to be ahead but it was only 1-1 and from then on we could all see what was coming next. 🙄 Barnsley looked mediocre in terms of open play creativity but when you switch off defensively from standard set piece routines and 2nd phase balls into the box and practically giftwrap the opposition their goals you simply dont deserve anything from the game especially once you let your heads drop to going behind. Our midfield press which in the 1st half had been working well dropped at least 10 yards too deep after going behind in the 2nd and our players looked devoid of confidence and ideas thereafter and perhaps even more worryingly I didn't see any individuals showing leadership or much in the way of fight once we were behind. Just compare that 2nd half performance against them today to going 3-1 behind against them last season and going on to win 4-3 through just having that extra never say die spirit and character plus overall quality in the spine of the team.

Where’s the next win coming from? With the lack of fight, belief, confidence.. we’d be lucky to get 2pts from the next 5 games. Somethings gotta give and the only component yet to change is the manager. Gutting to say, but I don’t think RW can make this group believe in itself

@WiIIiamX98 @joe99231660 Wasn’t much of a battle in November, unless you’re cut adrift no one is hitting the panic button in November about relegation.. but in March, having not made the squad gel, having bought in fresh faces and we still look like the same inept team, it’s a very different scenario

Sacked at Donny cos he couldn’t get em out the shit …I actually remember a few Donny fans warning us if it goes bad it won’t end well with Richie … go back and look at his interviews for them . It’s rinse and repeat years later he says the same things the as he does now #lofc

@joe99231660 No confidence to go forward, always refuses chance to put the ball in the box in favour of a pass inside or back to CB. It’s infuriating but I feel like it optimises a problem across the whole team, accentuated by the fact that he a lot of ball first half

@OrientOutlook There’s a serious lack of belief, desire, togetherness, confidence, fight.. partly this comes from the players, a big part comes from the manager and coaches. Wellens’ body language was worrying. I disagree with the players staying out and Richie disappearing down the tunnel

@joe99231660 We aren’t in a dissimilar position than we were last season at this point. We had conceded only two goals in 6 games before today and won 5 out of 6 in all competitions. Defensively if we sort it out and then one or two others kick on, we aren’t as far away as you’d think
