US President Donald Trump has floated seizing Iran’s Kharg Island oil export hub or even “obliterating” it. Here's why such an operation would be risky and how it would affect the oil market bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@PeterSchiff Yeah. Great idea. Take treasuries out of circulation so they can't be used as collateral. That'll fix everything.

Powell claims QE is necessary after the Fed cuts interest rates to zero and can't cut any further to add more stimulus to support the economy. But rate cuts actually sedate the economy. Adding QE after hitting zero just makes the problems the Fed caused with rate cuts even worse.

This is quite interesting, thorough, and sensible.  Ignore the know-nothing defeatists and isolationist howlers and sloganeers on the internet.  Check this out instead.  John Spencer is actually smart and qualified.  He knows a lot. Well worth reading.

@larry_kudlow Love ya, Larry, but I think you're 100% wrong. In a word, what will keep the Strait closed is drones.

Investors should sell oil and buy stocks (preferably the broad-based index) and hold it for 100 years. My message to self-seeking bears is: the U.S. is going to take control of Hormuz, which will settle down oil markets and it's not gonna take much longer. foxbusiness.com/video/63918782… #FoxBusiness

Yup. The mullahs are a suicidal death cult. The Strait is held hostage by unreachable hidden drones. The Gulf States' oil facilities are easy targets, as are the 7 major power plants and 7 desalination facilities in Israel. Does anyone seriously think that Iran hasn't kept missiles in reserve? Who has escalation dominance? If all this unfolded, would Israel go nuclear? Can you say "chastisement"?

The crusades were only modestly successful. The crusaders were able to retake the Holy Land, but only for a short time. After that, they lost it all and retreated back to Europe. Where the crusades saw the most success was in stopping the westward expansion of Islam into Europe, but even then, major battles would still need to be fought as late as the 16th century, and these happened in Europe.

I find it surprising that Trump fails to understand that the mullahs running Iran do not measure defeat the same way we do. In Christendom (or what's left to it) we measure defeat by a country's inability to fight any longer. In the Islamic world, they measure defeat by their willingness to surrender. In their collective minds, refusing to surrender is "victory," even if they lose everything. So they'll keep fighting to the last man, even if he's just throwing rocks from a cave. This is why I say there is no offramp — no exit strategy. Trump has to be willing to reach a point when he just says: "we've achieved our goals, the insurrectionists in Iran now have what they need to fight the regime, so we're pulling out." This is a de facto declaration of victory. The West will recognize it as so. The mullahs of Iran will consider it their own "victory" — hollow but a "victory" in their mindset. They will not surrender or work out a peace deal with Trump, so this is the best-case scenario for Trump. He needs to just do it before his clock runs out on April 30. That's when Congress has to vote to give him war powers, and if they don't, the whole military operation will be shut down by Constitutional law.

Victor, Love ya, but what seaman wants to be on a tanker in the Strait when Iran has an untold number of hidden drones? And can the Gulf States afford to lose their oil facilities to precision-guided missiles? Israel has 7 major power plants and 7 desalination plants that are sitting ducks, and Iran is in the control of a suicidal death cult. Who has escalation dominance?

Victor Davis Hanson: There’s No Next Time. Finish Iran Now Iran believed it could wait until President Trump finished his term and then resume pursuing a nuclear weapon and expand its terror network. However, President Trump still has many options he can use to simultaneously hit the regime’s finances and end Iran’s threat to the United States, forever. "The next time you have to go in, it will be very different, much more difficult. So while you have air supremacy, you should finish the job whether you support the original incursion or not." @VDHanson said on this week’s episode of "Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words." youtu.be/E_4oRG9rlIo?si…

Will stablecoins replace the need for the Federal Reserve? It was a pleasure to meet in person Brent Milkshake @SantiagoAuFund in Cape Town! Brent shared how stablecoins could reinforce U.S. monetary power, reshape global commerce, and even how gold could co-exist with a strong US dollar weaponized as a geopolitical tool for the empire.
