@SDAllenToronto

Living poor in the city. Often confused as right-wing, but no - Middle of the Road, slightly to the left. Politics is really many shades of grey.

.@TorontoStar 30 minutes ago reported that the two arrested at the Al Quds Day rally were "counter-protesters" -- not part of the Al Quds Day rally but protesting against it. Let's see which other mainstream media even report on that. When they say, as @CBCNews did last night, only that two were arrested for assault at the Al Quds Day protest, it certainly implies that the protest itself was violent, which, of course, it wasn't. Kudos to the Star for at least reporting who was arrested -- and that it wasn't us. thestar.com/news/gta/two-c…

Bobcats are the most common wild cat in North America but are elusive so rarely seen, making an encounter like this one extremely rare, but a good cautionary tale of what can happen if you attempt to get too close.

In 2015, American trophy hunter Ashley Watkins died in South Africa while hunting a Buffalo for which he had paid $10,000 to kill. Watkins, 52 years old, was taking part in a trophy safari in Limpopo province when a Cape Buffalo charged him and killed him almost instantly, the safari agency that organized the hunt reported. The head of the company said that the attack was “sudden and unprovoked” while Watkins was tracking it with a guide and a tracker. Cape Buffalo are nicknamed the "Black Death" or "Widowmaker," and are regarded as one of Africa’s most dangerous animals. Watkins had a Facebook page where he shared hunting photos, often posing next to the animals he had killed, including Deer and Cougars. #BanTrophyHunting NOW! 🚫
