We’re proud to highlight some of ABE’s Fall 2025 graduates 🎓 From their time at SDSU to their next steps, get to know the experiences and stories shaping their professional journeys.

At the PRAG Advisory Council meeting, students presented internship experiences through posters. The event brought together industry professionals and faculty, highlighting real-world learning and valuable networking opportunities.

Congratulations to Bhupendra Sen Thakuri, an undergraduate student of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering who has been awarded a $2,500 Joseph F. Nelson Award for Undergraduate Research by the SDSU Honors college. Bhupendra’s research mentor is Dr. Sushant Mehan.

🔧JATEC Inspection Trip🔧 Members of the Jackrabbit Agriculture Technology and Engineering Club traveled to the Omaha area for industry tours. The club students were able to visit six companies to learn about different sectors of the agriculture and engineering industries.

JATEC welcomed several South Dakota State University alumni this semester to share their experiences in agriculture, leadership, and innovation. Thanks to Brad Meyer, Sam Meyer, Carson Kahler, and Andrew Mairose for speaking with our students!

30 Agricultural Systems Technology & Precision Agriculture students attended an ag industry event in Huron, SD with Agtegra Cooperative. Students explored livestock handling, planter demos, AI in agriculture, agronomy plots, and careers. Thank you, Agtegra!

Six SDSU Fluid Power Club & Vehicle Challenge students toured Danfoss Power Solutions, Nott Company, and SunSource to explore hydraulic labs, manufacturing, and real-world fluid power systems while learning about career pathways.

50 Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Systems Technology, and Precision Ag students traveled to San Antonio for Commodity Classic 2026. They attended educational sessions, explored cutting-edge precision ag technology, and connected with industry leaders.🌾🚜

🌽Meet Andrew Schmidt! Andrew found his passion, lifelong friends, and a path to selling equipment for Ziegler Cat through SDSU. In 14 years, he’s traveled the world selling & supporting farm equipment. His advice? "Have an open mind & ask questions!"📚

100-YEAR ANNIVERSARY ALUMNI FEATURE 🌱From a dairy farm in SD to revolutionizing global ag, this is Ryan Lefers. At SDSU, he found his passion for ag engineering, leading to a Ph.D. & the creation of the company, iyris. “Hopefully, we can make the world a little better”🌎
