As we're coming closer to pitch event day, we want to remind everyone to do their research/reach out to the community before sending over your materials to requesting agents! Here's a great list of red flags to look out for:

@authorvaughnroe We didn't have a much success getting editors on board previously. Especially in trad pub, editors often build connections with agents and get submission from them, rather than scouting pitch events. But if there's any indie editors lurking, they are free to interact w the pitch!

Calling all pitch event hosts! Would anyone be interested in joining a pitch event hosts Discord server to communicate timelines and plans more effectively? I know there's the group DM, but it has to be updated every time a new event occurs 😅

@myleejmiller Thanks for letting us know. We will hit you up if we want to join the server. For your future reference, we always pick the last Saturday of May because it's API month.
