SEC Standings with just two weekends left

Do you know how many games are played a weekend? ESPN airing a minuscule number is my point. There were 24 SEC games alone spread across Thur-Sat. Hundreds total across the sport. They air like 8 a weekend, and often miss some of the best ones because they make the schedule in January and can't be bothered to actually pay attention to baseball the full season.

@kingofpotassium Yeah, it's just been a select few, and most of them are probably just defensive because they've seen so many people making fun of the Bananas, and feel the need to be protective. I know the vast majority co-exist and can enjoy both!

@SECbaseball @BrandonOSports It’s almost as if they have a marketing team that gages viewers and viewership. Most sane people know that regular season college baseball isn’t drawing eyes like the World Series does. Hence why they offer it up on the App and shift to daily programming when folks watch.

@CTREM31 @BrandonOSports Yeah, really weird people want "the worldwide leader in sports" who has the rights to a top 10 baseball series to... idk.. actually air the game on TV instead of a university provided stream-only option, or at the bare minimum, tweet about it.

@CTREM31 They're the only ones with the rights to 99% of it. They don't handle the production outside of a very few games, and just host it on their app. The ones producing it are the conferences/schools. Not to mention, coverage extends beyond just airing games.

I’m not confused why they’re doing it. But that doesn’t make me care about ESPN’s financials any more. I obviously prioritize college baseball As for what I expect, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the “worldwide leader in sports” to, at the bare minimum, provide equal coverage to an actual sport as they do the sport-themed entertainment performance.

@JohnSiteman @ClintT13 I have no qualms with the bananas. But the goal isn’t to win, it’s to entertain, (which is fine) much like the globetrotters. Not rigging it doesn’t undo that.

@ClintT13 @SECbaseball Because they aren’t. The Globetrotters are ultimately closer to the WWE due to primarily having a scripted result (even if it doesn’t go that way every time). The Bananas are legitimate competition with an extra entertainment value to their production.
