SEIU Local 560, the union representing Dartmouth men’s basketball players, released a statement on winning their ULP against the school for refusing to bargain with them:

We are thrilled to announce that after a 12 hour voting period and hundreds of members voting, we have ratified our newest contract overwhelmingly! #1Union #UnionYES

If college athletes are treated like employees, then they are employees. The AFL-CIO and its Sports Council unions - representing pro basketball, football, baseball and soccer players - unanimously oppose HR 8534 and any legislation that denies college athletes employee status.
