Electricity does its job best when we respect it. If you see a downed power line—stay back. Always assume it is energized. Substations are not places to explore. They are built for safety, not access. Those green boxes (underground transformers) may look harmless—but stay away.

New poles, new wire, and new transformers are now in place in the Sloanville area of Scott County. We will continue working with members to reconnect electric and fiber service as they rebuild and are ready. @GovMikeKehoe

Friday’s storm broke nearly 50 poles across our service area. Our focus remains on the Sloanville area tonight and into tomorrow. Several residents will need follow-up in the coming days, weeks, and months as the rebuilding process pushes forward. @kfvsnews

❤️ As Team SEMO continues restoration efforts north of Sikeston, Lineman Brandon found these two photos scattered in the debris and said he couldn’t leave them behind. He brought them in so we could share them here, in hopes they make their way back to the families.

Crews have restored several outages tonight, but as night falls, work will continue as safely as possible. Due to heavy damage and debris, restoration around Sloanville may take a few days. Our hearts go out to all impacted. Stay safe—we’re with you.

Our 87th Annual Meeting ended on a difficult note as a sudden windstorm collapsed two tents near the end of the event. One member of our team was injured. They were responsive and are receiving medical attention. Please keep them in your prayers.
