A little background on who we are and how we started : - With me working as a DevRel for a Chain & the whole focus on bringing in the Devs from Tier 2/3 Cities and onboarding interested students initially to the chain, but later on supporting and bringing in builders building a full fledge products. - Next, have participated and won 10x hackathons and eventually came to the conclusion that Hackathons are truly a tried and tested way of Onboarding New Developers to Web3/Tech. - Hence, started the Hackathon culture with my own College & one after the other focussing on Chennai being a hub for Web 3 focused Hackathons with the best quality and experience for devs. - Decided to do hackathons in multiple cities, but on multiple discussions with sponsors and partners, found out a major flaw in retaining the builders. - Chain hopping, farming, and the whole structure of hackathons was not right for onboarding and retaining builders. - Moved to the format of hacker houses , closed stay with 200+ selected builders, stay and build for 4-5 days straight.
