Those answers were in response to the key question below. The reality is that play & organised sport are different, not mutually exclusive, but qualitatively different. Genuine play doesn’t need a coaching industry. So let’s not conflate them or hijack the term for our own end

The decline of play is connected to a decline in places where children can safely gather and make decisions about play for themselves. Adults are responsible for this …. Sports infrastructure, Governments, schools, parents … all of us. We can put it right. 1/

Can we please, please, please stop calling it 'boys' football'? In apps and tournament invites, I keep seeing 'boys' or 'girls' It is MIXED football. There's no such thing as 'boys' only football' under SCORY. @EnglandFootball @WomeninFootball @fa this really is an easy fix!

Safeguarding.... cultures, silence and speaking out. In your club, league or institution, do you feel safe to challenge or speak out against those who are in power or maybe hold the purse strings or hire/fire or regulate you? Silencing cultures are not safe cultures.

What about all those people who had photos with Ministers or took Government money for supporting the Children and Families Act years ago? Telling us it was a brave new world and epoch changing. And yet here we are again… Incredible political naïveté or wishful thinking?
