The sooner yall learn the history behind R&B, and learn R&B is a modernized term for “Race records” literally meaning black ppl music… u will understand why black artists are called R&B unless they go to extreme lengths to be categorized otherwise. (see: cowboy carter)

asians are so damn weird & obsessively antiblack bro. I don’t give a fuck if it’s a damn toy it’s weird as fuck that they specifically get darkskin stereotypical big red lip black babies? it’s proof of how rampant dehumanization, adultification & violence against black babies is
.@carterdalast

For those asking for context here it is Note : these Black baby toys are being used as socks, shower etc and are also abused Do yall even understand how insane this is??????

the way ya'll have so easily adopted fascist turns of phrase is not surprising (we see the way ya'll disrespect the Black scholarship behind identity politics when you're trying to say "identity reductionism"), but i am amazed that you all think that doing so is harmless.

For those of us (nearly everyone) who recognize Woke 1.0 as a failure, what’s something specific you’re willing to say it got wrong? Here’s mine: the practice of describing policies that were, like, Kerner Commission recommendations as “prison abolition” to get attention was dumb

The epitome of a “New Black” artist. He’s the pre-cursor to everyone wanting to be disassociated from the Black musical traditions and wanting to be alternative or pop. He would get disgusted if you call his music R&B & clearly suffered from having a white gaze.
Ennui Go@Dragkonias

I feel like Frank Ocean is a peak blog era artist. He still has a lot of songs that hold up very well but his music and aesthetic were very "post-racial". To the point where I don't even know how I would feel about anything new he put out.

this is very true but at the same time there's a paradox going on where kpop is posited as Uniquely Bad but yet the standards for its performers are MUCH higher than for the other music the person speaking listens to (i am at times guilty of the latter)

A lot of k-pop over the last decade becoming essentially 'dance crew with backtrack' is a conversation thats definitely been had, but I feel especially recently its been coming up more

The idea that you must comply with every demand from another person in order to be in "community" and have a "village" is so naive (and manipulative).

A lot of people’s definition of community is actually enmeshment- makes sense given how rampant and unquestioned it is in many families/cultures. Idealising the absence of self differentiation, misogyny, “respect”, religion, age hierarchies, transactionality, etc. Mess.
