It’s Amorphophallus season at the Conservatory! Leaves and blooms from these corpse flower relatives are growing throughout the galleries. ❤️ The Amorphophallus konjac has a deep red-brown bloom, cultivated in Asia for thousands of years for its edible, starchy corms

Huge thanks to our honorees Ruth and Ken Wilcox for their inspiring remarks and to our special guest speaker author Margaret Renkl who reminded us that planting a garden, no matter how small, provides joy and resilience in uncertain times.

💐🔍The blooms begin as vibrant pink dewdrop-shaped pendants. The pink bracts begin to curl upwards as the plant grows, revealing dozens of tiny pink and purple flowers within! Can you spot them? Plan your visit soon at gggp.org, there's so much in bloom!

Related to the Corpse Flower, meet Amorphophallus muelleri 🌱Native to Thailand, this unique plant features a polka-dotted purple spathe and a pointed white spadix. Its inflorescence appears only once every 2–5 years with a very mild smell. Check it out at the Conservatory!

Her debut children's book, "The Weedy Garden", will be featured this May-October in the Storybook Stroll at the Children's Garden. Her reflections are sure to inspire and deepen our connection to the natural world we're gathering to support. ✨🌍

Jade vine and egg magnolia this week (photos 1-3) 🩵➡️ swipe to see the jade vine the week prior (photos 4-5) 🌿 The jade vine's glowing flowers make a perfect perch for bats. When bats reach for a sweet nectar treat, the flower will dust their heads with pollen.

We’re honored to highlight @wildgina. Gina is a Black woman nature photographer who captures the intimacy of plants and botanical subjects with incredible perspective. We’re so lucky she’s a frequent visitor to the Gardens, allowing us to experience nature through her lens.
