SF Elections

The Department of Elections has officially certified the local results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. 🗳️ ✅ For this election, voter turnout was nearly 56% with 295,232 of San Francisco's 531,310 voters participating in the election. The Department will release the next preliminary results report on Monday, November 24, at 4pm. The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3.

The Department must still process and count approximately 2,800 provisional ballots. Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.gov/observe.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections has issued the fifth preliminary results report of votes cast in the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. Preliminary results are posted at sfelections.gov/results. Today's preliminary results report includes 26,624 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued on Monday, November 10.

The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3. Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.gov/observe. The Department will release the next preliminary results report on Monday, November 17, at 4pm.

The Department must still process and count approximately 27,500 ballots, including approximately 21,000 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,500 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. Department personnel will process and count ballots on weekdays from 8am-5pm, except Veteran's Day (November 11).

UPDATE: The Department of Elections has issued the fourth preliminary results report of votes cast in the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. Preliminary results are posted at sfelections.gov/results. Today's preliminary results report includes 56,253 vote-by-mail ballots counted since the last results report issued on Thursday, November 6.

The Department will release the next preliminary results report on Monday, November 10, at 4pm.

The Department must still process and count approximately 82,000 ballots. This estimate includes approximately 75,500 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,500 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. Department personnel will process and count ballots weekdays from 8am-5pm, except Veteran's Day (November 11). The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3. Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.gov/observe.

Preliminary results are posted at sfelections.gov/results. Today's preliminary results report includes 13,084 vote-by-mail ballots counted since the last results report issued on Election Night.

The Department will issue the next preliminary results reports at 4pm, Thursday, November 6. The Department will issue preliminary results reports on the following days at 4pm: -Thursday, November 6 -Monday, November 10 -Monday, November 17 -Monday, November 24 The Department expects to certify and issue final election results for San Francisco at 4pm on Wednesday, December 3.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections must still process and count approximately 69,000 ballots for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. This estimate includes: -approximately 62,000 vote-by-mail ballots received on Election Day by mail, at drop boxes, and at polling places; -6,700 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. Estimates of remaining ballots to count will be posted at sfelections.gov/results along with all election results reports.

Beginning Wednesday, November 5, the Department will publish a report of the approximate number of ballots remaining to be counted. On Thursday, November 6, and Monday, November 10, the Department will release updated preliminary election results reports at approximately 4 p.m.
