The Department of Elections has officially certified the local results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. 🗳️ ✅ For this election, voter turnout was nearly 56% with 295,232 of San Francisco's 531,310 voters participating in the election. UPDATE: The Department of Elections must still process and count approximately 69,000 ballots for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. This estimate includes: -approximately 62,000 vote-by-mail ballots received on Election Day by mail, at drop boxes, and at polling places; -6,700 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. Estimates of remaining ballots to count will be posted at sfelections.gov/results along with all election results reports.

The second preliminary results report includes results of vote-by-mail ballots received before Election Day and results from in-person voting at all 100 polling places.

The Department of Elections has released preliminary results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. Preliminary results are posted at sfelections.gov/results. The Department will release two preliminary results reports tonight: 1. At 8:45pm, a report consisting of results from vote-by-mail ballots received before Election Day. 2. After all polling places have reported, a report incorporating Election Day results from in-person voting at all 100 polling places.
