SFI-AutoShip

We are looking back on an eventful autumn in SFI AutoShip, such as this September visit to NCL Svelgen at Trondheim Havn container terminal in Orkanger. Researchers received a tour of the vessel and terminal, with useful input for our Use Case 2 on Short sea container shipping.

Many thanks to researchers and research partners in SFI AutoShip, who recently gathered in our fall workshop. We look forward to seeing both researchers and industry partners at the SFI Days 25-26 October!

Ocean Autonomy Cluster organized a visit by the Minister of Trade, Jan Christian Vestre at NTNU Nyhavna May 9th. We were happy to get the opportunity to present our SFI AutoShip Centre, the new MIDAS competence building project and the NTNU Shore Control Lab.

SFI AutoShip was presented at the 4th International Conference on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships arranged as part of the International Maritime and Port Technology and Development Conference. The main focus of the presentation was on the research actions within safety and risk

The Centre director of SFI AutoShip, Mary Ann Lundteigen had the privilege of presenting during UKA Tech. The topic: "Intelligent ships for the green shift".

The first SFI AutoShip days were arranged on the 15th and 16th of Sept. Almost 60 participants met physically in Trondheim for a varied programme with plenaries, parallel sessions and site visits.

SFI AutoShip was happy to be invited to present to the regional industry in Harstad/Bodø/Evenes at the workshop “Autonome Maritime Systemer” on Sept. 7th. The network is actively seeking opportunities on how autonomous technologies can lead to improved safety and efficiency.

Deputy Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee, Espen Barth Eide visited Trondheim and was introduced to SFI AutoShip and the new NTNU Shore Control Lab. Proud to show off some of our technologies playing an important role in the green shift of the maritime sector!
