For those who argue that enfranchising more young people would be a power grab for Democrats, Allen of Vote16USA says that’s simply not the point: “Lowering the voting age is about enfranchising young people, prioritizing youth voting rights, and strengthening our democracy.”

Thank you Supervisor @myrnamelgard7 and Mayor @londonbreed for inviting the commission to the Welcoming West Portal event. The commission is passionate about championing vision zero legislation and safety improvements that impact youth.

Dada la naturaleza rápidamente cambiante de esta situación, es probable que el SFUSD presente su presupuesto y describa los próximos pasos para el distrito lo mejor que pueda. Esperamos que esta reunión brinde una oportunidad de claridad y transparencia para las familias.

Debido a los recientes acontecimientos dentro del SFUSD, se han detenido los cierres de escuelas. Sin embargo, el distrito y sus representantes seguirán asistiendo a la reunión de la Comisión Juvenil el 21 de octubre de 2024.

Given the rapidly changing nature of this situation, SFUSD will likely present on their budget and outline next steps for the district to the best of their ability. We hope this meeting will provide an opportunity for clarity and transparency for families.

Due to recent developments within SFUSD, school closures have been halted. However, the district and its representatives will still attend the Youth Commission meeting on October 21, 2024.
