The difference between a hangover and post drinking anxiety…. I have real LOVE/HATE relationship with booze these days. 🥂 I’m Irish, ex forces and clearly love to let my hair down, but over the last 4 years I’ve had to pick my moments to do that VERY carefully. 😏I’ve found my Mental Health takes a real dip 3 days post a heavy drinking session. It’s not a hangover, it’s more than that. It’s anxiety, low mood and a feeling of being overwhelmed. I drank a lot at my besties wedding on Thursday, followed by a weekend away…with more. Today I can feel the after effects on my mood and headspace. BUT I’m aware this is what happens. Will I ever give up alcohol? No. Why? Well I still believe the benefits of a good old knees up and a chance to decompress are extremely valuable. Do I get absolutely wasted at every opportunity these days. Also no. If u struggle with your own MH, think carefully about balance, and pick your battles wisely 👊 #MentalHealthAwareness

As you watch the Aurora this evening, it’s worth reflecting that you’re getting a rare direct glimpse of the power of Nature. Those charged particles causing the atmosphere to glow came from a sunspot complex 17 times the diameter of Earth and traveled across 90 million miles at a million miles an hour. Without our magnetic field to protect us, our atmosphere would have been lost to space long ago. Those colours in the sky are Nature reminding us that we’re very lucky to be here amidst the violence. And perhaps therefore also reminding us not to shite it all up :-)
