Our U12 Girls played in round 3 (quarter finals) of the County Cup away at Spalding Academy. The game ended 5-3 in favour of our opponents, but nevertheless it was a brilliant, high scoring match. Well done to Sophia who achieved coaches player of the game. ⚽️👏

6 SGS students were able to experience this Triathlon Talent Day yesterday with George, Midlands coach, from @brittri . It was an excellent opportunity for our talented swimmers. 🏊

Our young athletes are diving headfirst into an incredible triathlon session today! A massive thank you to @BritTri for hosting - an unbelievable opportunity for the kids to learn from the best 🇬🇧 This morning started in the pool with a 50m sprint and 200m endurance swim 🏊

We are exceptionally proud of our DRET all star rowers performances in the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships London. We saw 6 personal best results! Well done 🚣💚

We would like to thank @MyLeisureHome1 for sponsoring and providing us with brand new size 4 & 5 rugby balls. Shane Spence, Sales Director, presented them to students at our rugby club. They were gratefully received. We look forward to continuing our training with them🏉

Coastal league: It was a clean sweep for the netballers as they dominated the court. Our year 7 footballers were also victorious with some fantastic play, whilst the year 9 footballers earned a hard fought 4-4 draw. Well done to Sophia, Izzy, Lorenzo and Monti who were POM.👏

We welcomed British Cycling to conduct some talent ID within our year 8s. The aim was to assess if riders should continue within their talent pathway. Last year, 5 pupils accessed Fast Track sessions at Derby Velodrome. We look forward to hearing more after all their test days🚲

Our Year 7 football team faced Bourne Grammar in the 1/4 final of the county cup. They were victorious with a 4-1 result, progressing into the semi finals! What a fantastic achievement! Well done to all players that represented SGS and to Elliot for achieving coaches POM. 👏

We travelled to Nottingham Hockey Centre for this years U15 Hockey DRET Spring Cup competition. TeamSGS won 2/3 group games to progress through to the Cup. The team remained determined to earn a top 3 position, coming away with bronze.🥉Team captain May, was voted as the POTM💪🏑

Our U13 Hockey team played QEGS Alford in a friendly fixture in preparation for next week’s Spring Cup. It was a well matched game with chances for both sides. TeamSGS were victorious 2-1. Well done! Congratulations to Millie for being voted oppositions player of the match👏

Massive well done to this SGS student that completed her first Hyrox simulation at Elite Fitness Skegness. This is in preparation for the Hyrox Youngstars event taking place in London in 3 weeks. We wish her all the best in her continued training and good luck at the event. 💪

TeamSGS travelled to QEGS Horncastle for coastal league fixtures. We achieved 3 wins across both year 7 games and year 9 football. Meanwhile, the year 9 netballers kept it tight with a narrow scoreline against a team of club players. Well done to all students representing SGS💚💛
