SGTS is very sad to hear of the death of one of our editors, Dr Pat Menzies. The society was pleased to publish her excellent edition of "Òran na Comhachaig" by Dòmhnall mac Fhionnlaigh nan Dàn in 2012. Fois shìorraidh gun robh aig a h-anam.

Thanks to Dr Scott for a wonderful talk on Màiri Mhòr's praise songs last night, with important insights into Gaelic literature and society in the 19thC. Given the prominence of female voices in SGTS volumes, it was great to have Màiri Mhòr as our focus for the Canna Lecture.
