Our new Parliamentary Petition has launched. It calls for government to make it possible for tenants & leaseholders to pay disputed service charges to a court. The funds only pass to landlords if they can prove the charge's legitimacy within a set timeframe. Otherwise, the money returns to the tenant or leaseholder. Amazing how the people endlessly telling leaseholders change is “in sight” always seem surrounded by the same interests profiting from delay. At some point people stop hearing “reform” and start hearing managed PR & spin.

I am sure this will hit home for a lot of tenants, as well as me. I’ve spent years being passed from complaints procedures, to @HousingOmbuds, councils & courts, yet repairs still haven’t been carried out despite Awaab’s Law and an Ombudsman finding of severe maladministration.

MPs today launched a “summer of sex” campaign. Meanwhile, millions are stuck in leasehold flats being pounded by freeholders and their agents. Labour has U-turned on its promise to end leasehold, but MPs are focused on trivia like encouraging people to get shagged. Unserious.
