Year 2 have been sharing what they treasure, in introduction to our new R.E. unit on 'Treasures', all about God's precious gifts to us.

In Year 2, we are learning how to find scripture in the Bible. How do we use the Bible? What do Bible references mean? How can we find scripture?

This week, Year 2 have held a Celebration of the Word for people who are unwell. The children planned this celebration themselves, choosing each key element from a given selection. Well done!

Explore – How do we pass on messages? As part of our new unit, we are learning about what messages are and how and why we might send them. How do we pass on messages in our lives? Why do we do this? Let us freeze frame some ideas.

Today, we have been using puppets to retell the story of Holy Week and Jesus' death in a narrative that corresponds to scripture.

This afternoon, Year 2 visited church for Mass. We learnt all about how we veil parts of the church during this time of Lent, reflecting how Jesus hid his face from us and what this means. We also received a blessing from Father Endre.

We have been learning more about the Stations of the Cross. Take a look at what we would like to present this week and share with you.

Two of our wonderful Sacred Heart children used their own money to buy food for a local food bank. We are collecting until 11th April as one of the many ways we live out our Catholic Social teaching. ❤️🙏

Our nursery children, Little Hearts, were so respectful during our Ash Wednesday service. They listened and sat so well 🙏❤️.

Year 5 were very respectful and prayerful, whilst serving during our weekly Monday mass.

Year 6 were so prayerful and engaged in adoration today, in our Children of the Eucharist session. They are so respectful 🙏❤️

British Values Today, we have been learning about British Values. We learnt about each value and talked about why we have this in place. We also discussed what our lives would be like without them.

BRITISH VALUES Today, we have been talking about measuring mass in Numeracy. Our main task was to determine the most appropriate unit of measurement to weigh each object. We used our learning about British Values when we were voting for our class choice.

Our Faith in Action leaders took part in World Day of Prayer today. I’m so proud of them. Their reading was brilliant and they really relished being part of such a wonderful playful celebration. #DayOfPrayer #WorldDayOfPrayer

Y6 enjoyed the national live read session in World Book Day. They found some strange, yet comfortable places to read! #wbd2025

Even though it was World Book Day, Y6 delivered their Celebration of the Word, as normal, in class. It was really thoughtful and prayerful.

All children were very prayerful and respectful as we all received our ashes on Ash Wednesday.
