The challenge ends in huge dissapointment as we were outclassed by spain who for most of the game just ran around our 442 shape. Within 30 minutes we found ourselves 3-0 down. we made some slight tweaks including taking off Martinez after he missed 2 chances when we were only 2 down but his replacement Alvarez didnt do much on the pitch and it was only two long shots from Molina & Almada that gave us any semblance of dignity but we were very poor & deserved to go out at the first knockout round

Our prize for winning the group is a second round game against Spain, who somehow have only finished second in thier group so this is surely the biggest game of the round and the toughest challenge we could have got at this point of the tournament

As it's my Birthday I'm taking a one night break from my main #fm26 save with fiorentina to take on the challenge of winning the world cup with Argentina......... However there is a a twist, meet Miguel Basetti an Argentine veteran of the lower leagues. A 25 year veteran to be excact, he got into football management after watching his favourite film of 2001, Mike Bassett England Manager. Miguel watched that film & decided to play his whole career with a 442 formation, he has had varying levels of sucess with some promotions and a couple relegations but has always stuck to the 4-4-2 no matter what. Now in a comical turn of events Scaloni has resigned from the National team Job just days before the start of the 2026 #worldcup & with every other argentine coach on holiday inbetween the Torneo Apertura & the Torneo Clausura. The AFA have been forced to turn to Miguel Basetti but he has told the FA he will only take the job if he can play..... CUATRO CUATRO MALDILTA DOS AKA FOUR FOUR FUCKING TWO!!!
